What do you do when things don’t go as planned?
Both of my Jeeps are down, just days before a cross country trip (one’s being towed as I write this, completely unplanned.)
Yet, I have a smile on my face and a deep internal sense of gratitude.
It hasn’t always been this way.
I’ve worked hard towards an intentional mind shift in how I engage day to day in the world around me. Things are no longer good, or bad…they just are, and in realizing this I can choose how I respond. I can choose to feel into the moment, be present with myself and let the emotions flow through.
The research says you can work through your emotions in about 90 seconds if you are willing to go there in the moment. Life changing information!
Have you ever consciously slowed down, as you go about your day, and taken a look at the world around you?
I started doing this about a year ago, and I was surprised at how this began to change my day to to interactions with people.
I begin to notice, moment by moment, how we are all making decisions that effect the world around us in one way or another and we’re often oblivious to it!
As I became more attuned to the world around me, I decided I’d make a more conscious choice in how I show up.
It’s been a really good reminder to:
Slow down.
Gather information.
Be present.

There’s no mistaking mine… I’m on the verge of something big, I’ve been feeling it for quite sometime.
There have been a few moments in life where I’ve felt this way before and took a major step forward.
Selling my first house to design and build my current house was one of those moments.
I distinctly remember weighing out the risk/reward. There was a lot at stake.
Little did I know this home would become my sacred space to recover and heal.

Have you ever had a word that you loved so much that you wanted to tattoo it on your body?
For me, I sometimes dream of tattooing the word simple in big bold red letters on my forehead…because I want the world to see it, as clearly as I hear it over and over in my own mind.
Why do humans feel the need to constantly make things more complex?
Is it: ego, pride, selfishness, greed, lack of awareness…?
If it can be simplified, to aid others…why are we making it more complex?

This morning, I had a client appointment with someone who did the work to show up for herself in a new way. She went there and is on the path towards healing!
This is such a great journey, the tools and training I’ve received not only have transformed my life but the lives of others!

What I felt in the moment:
-Other peoples desires are more important than my own.
-What I wanted didn’t matter.
-I was expected to submit to authority.
-I was expected to respect my elders, not what felt good in my body.
What I wish I would have learned in this moment:
-Actions outside of mutual consent cause undue hardship.
-Boundaries are healthy. A no means no. A maybe means no. A yes, can turn into a no at any point. My body is my own. I absolutely can say no and remove myself from the situation.
-Conversations create a safer space for all. Let’s respect one another enough to ask, it matters!

What if you started each day with something that brought you joy?
It could be an absolute game changer! Don’t believe us, try it for just one week.
Wake up in the morning and let the very first thought be, what could I do right now to bring more pleasure into my life? Then do that thing!
Maybe it’s a gentle stretch that feels oh so good, feeling the sun on your face as you wake up, noticing how delightful the lotion feels on your skin, a small bite of chocolate to wake up your tastebuds, or a spontaneous cuddle session to feel the warmth of someone you love…
Let’s live a little! We’re only in these bodies for a short time…enjoy it!

Truth.
