Given the gale warning and likelihood of 40 knots tonight we have decided not to start the Cabbage Tree Island Race. There is far greater value doing a 24 hour passage starting at 7am tomorrow. Co skipper Chris Higham stated "This decision means we can properly test all the sails and collect extensive data which is much better preparation and more beneficial for the end goal of the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race".
Busy morning on Abbotts Vamp preparing for the 180 nautical mile Cabbage Tree Island Race starting tonight at 1900. Thanks team for your hard work!

A huge thank you to Messo and Max for all their hard work and help in preparing 'Abbotts Vamp' for the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race. We have been very fortunate to benefit from their extensive knowledge of the boat, together with owner David's endless support of the Abbotts Vamp program.
First day of sail training for the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race on Abbotts Vamp on a very windy day in Sydney Harbour. The second day saw much better conditions and the team worked hard testing all the systems and manoeuvres. A solid day and a step closer in our preparations!
Abbotts Vamp being weighed in Sydney today which is a step closer to our ORCi certification, stability compliance and a new IRC certificate. The team is looking forward to sail training this weekend!
