Co-founder and Chief Medical Officer Angelo Leto Barone attended an inspiring seminar hosted by IVY on how to create a business with a mission. We believe ReconstratA embodies that mentality. It was also a pleasure to meet Christopher Gavigan from the Honest brand and share ideas.

In this day of love, the ReconstratA team wants to share with you some progress.

The team has been working relentlessly for the development of AuryzoN and the prototype will be available to us for testing in less than a month. We are putting together all the documents that will allow pre-clinical and clinical use of the device for testing before trying to help our patients with this new technology. The love and effort we are putting in the design and development of the device is enormous, but a tiny grain of sand compared to the love we have for the patients we intend to treat. Nov. 9th 2016, is National Microtia Awareness Day.

Approximately one child in every 9,000 is born with Microtia.
This is a birth defect that causes the ear to not fully develop, leaving parents and children with a multitude of questions. Children born with microtia are more likely to develop social anxiety disorders do to bullying and lack of peer acceptance. It is our hope that through education and awareness more families will seek help and more onlookers will find compassion, in understanding the trials and tribulations that people born with Microtia go through every day.

Ear Community

When Melissa Tumblins (co-founder of EarCommunity.org) daughter was born with Microtia she set out to find out as much about the condition as possible. Tumblins has since dedicated her time to educating families about Mircrotia while simultaneously providing a place for parents to connect and share their stories.

The Ear Community Organization and it's online FB support group, the "Microtia and Atresia Support Group" are a 501c3 non profit organization that educates and promotes awareness about Microtia and Atresia.

Day 2/2 of our shooting for the Auryzon device kickstarter video is complete! We are thrilled for the quality of our footage, due to the talent of our director of photography Dominic Easter. A big shout out to amazing local artist Terry Thompson who provided the incredible set for our shooting yesterday. Editing starts today. We can't wait to share with you the final video and to launch our crowd funding campaign very soon. Keep tuning in for more updates.

Day 1 of the shooting of our video for the Auryzon device is over! It has been a busy day, we got a lot of footage and images to select from. It has been great working with talented director and director of photography Dominic Easter (dominiceaster.com) and we're looking for another productive day of shooting tomorrow. Thank you to the Corradetti family for graciously letting us use their beautiful space in the glass blowing studio (corradetti.com) and to Jay O'Brien and the Ravens network for the lighting and audio equipment.

In the meantime, please enjoy an early sneak peak to some still footage.
