On behalf of myself, my family and all that I represent, I want to sincerely, from the depth of my very self, appreciate every member of this house here and elsewhere for a very deep love and affection showered on me this very yesterday - the day of my biological birth.

Sincerely, you made my day and I am so proud of everyone. I believe in this family of God. I believe in Praise Team and I thank God for the privilege I received from Him to have you all as a part of my family. I have no doubt received from you far more than I have expected. I pray that we shall all be celebrated in Jesus name. The name of the Lord will continually be glorified in and through us in Jesus name.

And when He who called us into this noble cause shall call us, we will not be find wanting in Jesus name.

Once again Sir/Ma, THANK YOU in capital letter. THANK YOU! THANK YOU ALL!

"I'm not there yet, I learn everyday"

Recently, I've been pressed with providing answers to these questions

what part do you sing?
do soprano take only the melody part of a songcan a female be a tenor singer.

The last enlightenment session I had on my page came with a lot of criticism and applaud. I remember a lady said she sings tenor very well now that she can't sing Alto. She's someone I respected so much when it comes to singing, but her response broke my heart (for the love of music πŸ˜‰). Then I replied....and she was satisfied.

Now let's start with this. I will make it as simple as possible. I know we have music "gurus" who are ready to pick on me.πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ I've got music mentors that I can run to. 🀣🀣

We have 3 major singing voice in contemporary music
This is the highest female singing voice and it ranges between C4 to C6. Most of females singers who claim they sing soprano actually are not soprano singers, they actually sing -soprano (second highest singing voice of a female) which ranges from A3 to A5.
- This is the lowest female singing voice and its ranges between F3 to F5. We have the Contralto as well for females who can't hit the Alto range (high and low) fall within this range

*Tenor* This is the highest *MALE* singing voice and it ranges between C3 to C5. We also have the males who sing higher than the tenor singers (Countertenors).

The first thing that qualifies you to be a Tenor singer is your S*x (Male).

Knowing your voice range is not about the part that comes out of your vocal cord. I heard singers say "I've been singing alto since I was younger, that's the first part I picked in a song" WHAT!!! and some will say "I'm a natural alto singer". Hummmm.

With exception to CLASSICAL Music.

When singing contemporary songs you'll notice that most times Alto and tenor singers sing the melody. Because that's the part that will make them hit that note and make them comfortable. Any time we transpose a song we should change the part alloted too because it would affect the range in one way or the other.
Backing up a song (BGVs)

Most times the soprano singers will automatically pick the melody line and leave the other two backups to struggle πŸ˜†πŸ˜†, and also if you're so unlucky and alto picks their usual convenient lower part. Then the brothers will be left to pick the available part (God help you if it's very low or too high)

Note that
Sopranos sings the highest part of a musical piece followed by Alto and then tenor.

Example: you're the mighty God. likely harmony
First (melody) : m f f m d r d m d r....
Second d r r d s l s d l t.....
Third s l l s m f m s m s....

If the sopranos pick the third part, that means the Alto will pick first and tenor the second (this depends on the πŸ— of the lead vocalist) and vice versa.

using the above example if you're a female and you said you can sing tenor (which is wrong) that's means you're singing the (drrd... on an octave higher than the tenor and also above the soprano singers). So in actual sense you'll sound higher than the soprano singers.

Soprano singing melody alone is an act of laziness and unwillingness to grow and this is usually supported by the music director most times (sha let them sing it like that) . A good singer must be able to swap successfully.

Ohhhhh.... You're saying all your choristers are female. You don't have a tenor singer fine. Don't worry the 3 parts will be complete.

Know their range
Split them into 3 parts. You'll have those with the highest, higher and high range. But make sure the one with the highest range takes the leading note followed by the higher and high.... Then you're fine (Harmony sweet die). But don't call them tenor singers. They can be soprano, mezzo-soprano, alto and Contralto singers.

Males can either be counter tenor, tenor, baritone or bass singers.

Rehearsal is inevitable. Let's Train ourselves to be a better singer.

Know your range, if you're not there but almost...
Do some voice training and get there.
