Parental Alienation From The Child’s Perspective

This year on December 3rd I will marry the love of my life. Growing up the way I did I never thought there was someone out there who was worth my time. Not to say my time was more valuable or that I was more important, but to give someone else myself just sounded insane. Most of my life I have seen family after family fall apart, even into my adulthood. I just never wanted to go through that myself. Although I know that no one goes into a marriage hoping for a divorce, I know I will work at my marriage everyday for the rest of my life.

That being said, after our engagement the sad truth is, I couldn’t help but think about my dad. How my fiancé had tried and tried to reach out but to no avail. Who would walk me down the isle? Do I still invite him? How will I feel that day without him? Will I hate myself for not having him there?

The sad truth is, he isn’t worth my time. I love him and I will always love him, but this is supposed to be the happiest moment of my life. Spent with people who have been there and supported both my fiancé and myself. Although I won’t know how I will feel when that time comes, I know everyone who loves and adores us will be there and that is what matters.

Thank you to everyone on this page who has listened to my stories and cried with me over the years. I know our pain never gets easier, but we will survive!

I haven’t posted in a very long time, but last night reminded me why I started this group. Why you all mean so much to me. Many of you know my story so I won’t rebore you with the details...

Last night my baby brother who I haven’t seen in 3, almost 4 years graduated.

I think something I am really struggling with right now is this: If I was given the chance to do things differently in my life, would I change them so that I could have him back in my life?....

I wouldn’t be here sharing my story with you all if I changed my life choices of leaving my alienating father, but damn if I would have known I wouldn’t see my brother again.... I don’t know if I would change it

Not the same little brother I remember.. he is now all grown up and it makes me so sad. Merry Christmas my little brother... love you so much.

2 years ago I learned about this horrible thing. You grow up thinking it is normal, my parents are separated, this is all normal. Well I’m here to tell you it is NOT! In learning about this I found an amazing group of PA family’s. I have also had the privilege of sharing my story with so many others. I love you all so so much. I’m always here for you! PA FAMILY STRONG!

The first time in 3 years my dad texted me “ I just wanted to tell you that I love you and I hope you're doing good.”

I have continued to have nothing but positive feedback on the book. I wrote this book to help other PA families like mine.

Guys this is a long one, but so worth the read.
This is an amazing mother. She was educated before her divorce about Parental Alienation and what would happen. She was educated knowing that it may happen to her. She fights everyday to make sure she doesn’t get on the alienators level, makes sure her kids feel like they can love their dad, and always makes sure her kids know that what they feel is never wrong. She answers questions knowing she is protecting her kids, and she always makes sure she awnsers them with the statement we all need in our head when speaking to these children in the middle of this. That statement is, “It doesn’t matter who is right, it matters what is right.”

We should all look up to parents like her.
And guys always educate friend, family, or anyone you know who is going through a divorce with kids involved. You never know when parental alienation is on the other side.
