Tug Valley Baseball
Tug Valley High School Baseball Team
Morning update.
We can’t begin to thank everyone that helped us this evening. We have a lot to do yet but we were able to accomplish much more than we expected due to all the help. We will be back at in Saturday morning at 8 am.
We’d like to thank Coal-Mac for donating sub grade for our building. This is being used to get grade level for our concrete pad we’ll be placing in the next few weeks.
Thanks to Roland Browning and Doug Kirk for working on our plumbing.
Next up is setting the trusses.
All the side verticals connected to the base rails (960 self tap screws). End framing base rails connected to the concrete and started on the actual end framing. Very productive morning.
Another evening working on the building.
We have started a TeamReach group for fall ball games and workouts. We invited all returning players plus a few more contacts we had. If you and/or your son is interested in being in this group please contact us.
Tug Valley baseball will be having a flex day on Thursday, 8/22, at 6:30. We will be discussing who is available to play fall ball. Please share with any boy interested.
We have a FB group set up for workouts for any TVHS boy interested in playing baseball for the 2025 team. Please head on over and join so we can coordinate.

Congratulations Conner Lackey and Julian Vance on being named to the Single A All-State list. This is Conner's 3rd consecutive time being named and Julian's 2nd. Thank you boys for all you've done for Tug Valley Baseball.
This post is brought to you by Tug Valley Wellness Clinic, Cheech's Pizza, Justin Marcum.
The Mingo County Board of Education approved the recommendation to change the name the baseball field at Tug Valley High School to Don Spence Field.
Spence was a long time coach, administrator, friend of the community and role model to many. He was instrumental to making the field a reality. Spence passed away last year, but the program and field are a part of his legacy.
Today, weather pending, we host Huntington St. Joe in a win or go home sectional elimination game. First pitch scheduled for 6 pm. These five seniors have meant so much to Tug Valley Baseball. Don't miss any games they have left.
We are back in action tomorrow as we host Buffalo at Don Spence Field. Game scheduled for a 6 pm start. We would LOVE to have a big crowd out to support us.
Today, your Tug Valley Panthers host Van in the first round of the Sectional Tournament. Game starts at 6 pm. We'd love to have a big crowd out to support them.
What a better way to get ready for sectionals than attending church with Coach Chris Ooten today. Coach Chris is the asst pastor at Little Dove United Baptist Church.
The Panthers receive the two seed. We will host Van at home on Monday 5/6.
We are pleased to announce that our final home game of the regular season will also double as little league night. Each little leaguer that comes with their jersey on will get in the game for free and will take part in the pregame festivities. So come out tomorrow as we host Pike Central and let’s cheer on all these ballplayers. Both current and future. PLEASE SHARE!
The baseball game for tonight at Mingo Central has been cancelled.
