How can I get FB to stop “suggesting” groups for me? I’m flooded with stuff I don’t want!

What the heck has Facebook done now? Suddenly, without my permission, all my friends’ posts are gone, and I’m getting a bunch of groups’ posts that I never subscribed to. SOMETIMES I HATE FACEBOOK.
