After almost five months I have finally pulled out my paints again. Had a lot of fun laying down a splatter background on this Galah and am now just starting my base coat.
I am excited to be painting again and can't wait to share the finished product!

Loved painting this sea turtle for the beautiful Michelle.

I painted these four little postcards months ago to give as gifts to my four brides maids when I asked them to be in bridal party.
Each one was painted with watercolours and acrylics. I love how they are all the same idea but each came out slightly different.

Australian magpies have one of my favourite bird calls. I can listen to them sing away all day.

After a few weeks away travelling, I really enjoyed this little warm up before I dive back into some of my bigger projects.

This painting is on a really tiny 4x4 canvas.

Was such a privilege to finally be able to hand this painting over to its new family. Thank you Lou and Joe for letting me paint your Ella, she is a gorgeous greyhound and has been such a pleasure to paint.

I have been working on a bunch of Australian wildlife illustrations for an upcoming poetry book being created by a very talented local group of writers in Blue Mountains. The book is being created in protest to the local dam wall being raised and how it will impact the environment and native flora and fauna that are on either side of the dam. I was honored to be invited as and artist to join the project.

I have been doing alot of reflection of my artworks the past few days and its actually been really nice to look back where I was 5 or 6 years ago and where I am now. It's really nice to see the improvement side by side.

This is a perfect example of my painting process. Wack the paint on and hope it looks right...usually doesn't so then I go over it again and again until it does.
Sometimes it's takes me multiple reworkes of the same subject to get it proportionally looking right. I have been struggling to get Ella the greyhounds face to even resemble a greyhound for a few months now. I think I am finally on the right track.

I have been neglecting my watercolours for so long, it was really fun to play with them again (although I am very much out of practice).
Always have loved the idea of whales in the sky/space.

I recently took part in a 6 week natural history illustration course to try improve my drawing accuracy. This is one of my final pieces. I hadn't draw a horse in a while and I have never really been that accurately proportional. I feel like the course has helped with that.

Since my last update on this one...which was Febuaray...whoops, I have extended the coat, adjusted skin tone and added a few bits and peices. Background change, didn't feel like the old one was working.
I plan to finish this by the end of the weekend, maybe even today...

My favoruite part about painting is the little details that make the big changes ;)

Been having a bit of an art block lately, but I have been slowly working on a commission of a Lewins honeyeater. I am rather fond of these birds so I was really glad to take on the callenege of painting one :)

Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. I loved the film, it was everything I wanted in Wonder Woman movie and I am excited to see more of her.
