🛑 Tonight’s girls game is cancelled. 🌧️ ❄️

➡️Please come out to DEERFIELD on Thursday to cheer on the girls, and also to give a moment of silence as we remember Tobias Arenz.

Well, the WI weather had different plans for us tonight. The game against Dodgeville has been postponed. We will post the new date as soon as possible. We hope to see everyone at our home opener (in Deerfield) on Thursday. JV at 5:00 pm and Varsity at 6:45 pm. We will be having a moment of silence in honor of our CDU family member, Tobi Arnez, who passed away earlier this year.

From Tobi's mom's significant other: A lot of people have been asking how they can help the Arenz family. Right now we are working with the German funeral home as well as the US consulate on getting Tobi back from Germany so we can start the burial process. As many of you have heard, we recently received the sad news that Tobi Arenz (CDU and DHS 2023 alum) recently passed away in Germany as a result of a tragic accident. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the Arenz family and the many friends and former teammates of Tobi.

There are no magic words of comfort at a time like this and I hope his friends and teammates can find some time to get together and share their memories of him and celebrate their shared experiences.

I only had the pleasure to coach him for one season but greatly enjoyed watching his fierce, competitive style of play and engaging with his creative and independent personality. (I don’t think I’ve known a player who ran to practice, ran at practice, ran after practice and ran home from practice)

He will be missed.

That’s a wrap.
⚽️ Last night’s playoff was very equally matched as we took on LaCrosse Logan, in LaCrosse. We held on to a tie score all the way until the last couple minutes of the game when LaCrosse got a goal, ending the game in 0-1 loss, and thus ending our 2023 season. It’s been a work-filled journey of picking up from losing many seniors last year and finding our groove, and we did!! This year’s seniors are going to leave a void for us also but we know that we will come back fighting next year too!!
Thank you to all the fans who made the long trek to cheer for us last night, as well as those who filled the stands for us all season long! 🙌

Great game CDU! 💪 Great ball movement and some amazing saves against East Troy today! Down by 1 in the 8th minute, we answered back and held it together for the next 60 minutes after that. Pretty sure w set the record for slide tackles in one game too! 😂

After being up 1-0 for most of the game, we ended in a 1-1 tie against H20town Luther Prep. Not what we were hoping for, but these boys worked hard for it and are back to practice this afternoon and playing again tomorrow on our Cambridge home field!
