Just to say I’m still here 👋🏻
I have extremely limited supplies of red lanyards left following a recent rush and plenty green that are suitable for all.

Things have been very difficult here. Sadly, my husband, who inspired me to make the lanyards, passed away suddenly (unrelated to covid) in June 2022. The children and I are trying to adapt to our new lives but it’s certainly a rollercoaster and we have a long way to go 💔

2021 life…thankfully all negative today. It’s getting a struggle though, a close friend of our eldest and now our youngest’s teacher have tested positive. After shielding for so long, it seems it’s getting closer and there’s nothing we can do about it 😔

Shielding programme ends for most vulnerable The government has agreed to end the requirement for shielding guidance for people previously considered to be clinically extremely vulnerable.

What a year it’s been. It’s been so comforting to hear so many of your stories and know we weren’t on our own in shielding or how we feel.

Ironically, since changes in rules and the subsequent “freedom day” we’ve had our busiest period of orders. I hope all those lanyards are helping you ‘get some space’ out and about now things have changed

A busy morning of parcelling up all the orders from the past 48hrs. Nearly every order has been from those in the clinically extremely vulnerable category who are obviously feeling as concerned as us about the so called “freedom day” coming up. Thinking of you all ❤️

School outbreaks are now at their highest level in 2021 so far, and self-testing amongst school-age children has collapsed to less than 20%. This is from a 60% high in March. Gavin Williamson's only response to this is to give up.

I don’t watch Corrie usually but I think I’ll tune in to see this - episodes highlighting what it was/is like to shield ❤️💛💚

Lots of orders over the past week with cases rising…so much so I’ve run out of envelopes! ✉️ ✉️ ✉️ ✉️ ✉️

More supplies coming next week and I do have a backup supply of paper bag packaging (instead of my usual padded envelope) should you need your order before they arrive 📦

This is how my husband and I watched our children’s Sports Day….hidden in some bushes on a public footpath that gave us the opportunity to steal a glance at them taking part in their first (youngest) and last (eldest) sports day.

As you can see, it tickled us at the time - sometimes you’ve got to laugh otherwise you’d cry.

When you proudly wear your lanyard to school pick up…and end up directing multiple parents to the playground and office as they mistake you for a teacher 😅 They even said it was the lanyard - at least they’ve noticed our teachers wearing them 💚

Seeing so many struggling mentally in the shielding community 😔

Another quiet spell on here...Yet again our fabulous NHS were able to look after Mr CEV after they were concerned his infections were heading towards sepsis. A very scary time that’s going to take a while for him to recover from further.

Whilst he was in hospital I did hear on the radio there’s the potential of social distancing being relaxed next month, what amazing news. I think it may take a lot of us a long time to adjust if that happens as it’s certainly become second nature for us. More steps towards “normality” are certainly exciting progress though ❤️💛💚

A flurry of orders today (very apt considering the little random flurries of snow & sleet we keep having here today ❄️). Lots of shielders heading back to work and getting organised with their red lanyards ❤️
