MortMic Podcast
Welcome to MortMic, a podcast dedicated to having casual discussions on death and dying!
It’s happened to everyone more than once. When someone close to you loses someone close to them, what are you supposed to say or do? Is there even anything you can?
Content warning! Discussion contains graphic descriptions of death. Was last month not enough goo and gore for you? Fortunately, there’s even more this episode! Brandy and Red delve back into ends most foul from fables to fact.
Content warning! Discussion contains graphic descriptions of death. The Deputies cover a fan-requested topic for this episode on some of the most brutal deaths, both from fictitious worlds and real history.

As promised, a visual guide to the Victorian death photography mentioned in today's episode, Death Culture Discourse 102. The devices and people in sheets posing the deceased are so fascinating!
Today we bring you another DCDed segment on a time period that has remained influential even to this day: the Victorian Era! See which customs were just a faze and what became a craze 150 years after they took the stage.

Sometimes, the professionals we trust to take care of our lost loved ones pull the wool over our eyes instead. Get ready for the traumatic tea to spill on some major cases of deceased neglect and abuse.

Still one of my favorite vintage photos: 1950 - A fascinating educational innovation in the 1950s was National Selected Morticians (NSM) creation of model casket displays. More than forty miniature caskets were hand-crafted from wood, finished to resemble actual merchandise and used to simulate various display set-ups. Each miniature measured about six inches in length.

Hello all! In preparation for a future episode, we were hoping to reach out to you all for fan questions on the topic of whole body donation to science! It's a 2 part episode we're very excited about and thought it would be fun to have your input to create an in depth look at the science behind body donation. Drop a comment or message with anything you'd like to know. If you'd like to remain anonymous, please let us know as well! Looking forward to sharing this content with you in a few months. Call me sappy, but seeing the carpet wear in front of the viewing side of a casket hit different today. Many people have visited their loved ones in this same spot, for many years, as will many more.
Estates, wills, and probate: what does any of this mean? Tune in for some insight into what to do with assets after someone dies.
A big thanks to Michael Haughton for guest editing today's episode!
Keepsake urns are honestly so cute!
