As the school year starts, the meetings start back up!! This is a great reminder. The IEP and 504 teams are JUST THAT, TEAMS! Working together is impairitive for success. Both sides of the table should show up with ideas to move forward for the child.

The first couple of weeks can be extra stressful. Meeting new teachers, kids finding their way around to new classrooms or in mnew buildings and trying to meet and make new friends. Just remember, a little stress can have a big impact on functioning.
We are back to school today and it made me really think a lot about what parents may need to consider when summer ends and the year begins. I am happy to say that the anxiety was a bit lower this year for us with my 4th grader and I am super proud of her heading into school with more confidence. She did have a moment last night as I was tucking her in. I am trying to stay positive and not let my personal fears of a difficult transition come into play. This is going to be a great year!
