Ranchin Chic
Welcome to my sheep page! I have a flock of commercial sheep, with some reg Dorsets and Hampshires!
I know the picture is a little blurry, but a size comparison of one of the first lambs born and one of the last ones born. Both are single wethers. It amazes me how much they can grow.
The bred ewes, ewe lambs, and pairs are loving the sun today!
Already in LOVE with this ewe lamb. 😍 She is out of a home raised ewe lamb breed to my home raised Suffolk ram lamb. Excited to see how she grows up!
There's always that one lamb that doesn't get up while you're bedding...
Babies!!
This ewe had decided that she wanted to get in with the ram and breed 2 weeks earlier than the rest of the ewes....so I got 2 ADORABLE ram lambs!
They were born at 4:20ish in the morning on Tuesday the 24th out of a 2019 home raised ewe, Mallory. She was due the previous Monday, but she decided to keep me on night checks for almost a whole extra week. 🙄
The first one born is the one with the lighter speckled face, Timmy, who weighed 11.3 lbs. The second one born with the blacker face, Joey, weighed 10.6 lbs at birth! They are big boys and hit the ground lively and wanting to stand and eat!
You can watch their birth on my YouTube channel!

Breeding season began about 2 weeks ago and there are a LOT of ewes bred already. 25/36 ewes bred in 10 days!
Over halfway done breeding...TEN DAYS IN!! | (Breeding 2022) Breeding has been going really well. The ewes are cycling all at once due to their flushing that started 2 weeks before breeding. At ten days, there were 25 ...
Nightly adventures of the sheep....

That is a lot of sheep...😳
Find Pete the sheep! Level: HARD
Mom got some good pictures of the sheep tonight! There is a description for each picture.
ISO a treadmill and some straw bales! The treadmill doesn't have to be nice just make sure it works. In case someone's New Year's Resolution isn't working out. 😁 I am just going to use it for the show lambs to get them muscled. For the straw bales, I prefer small squares but would be open to some round bales. Needs to be local! Thanks!
This year I decided to try 2 lambing groups. The winter one was my mature ewe and the new one is now for my ewe lambs. Since these ewes are first-timers, the warming weather and school ending is a lot of help. They were due on the 15 and I had 2 born then and then 3 born yesterday. There are only 11 in this group so that makes me about half way done already!

Ewe've Started!! | (Spring Lambing 2022) The ewe lambs started lambing! Right on their due date. It hasn't been the smoothest beginning with troubles lambing but thankgully everyone is alive! I alwa...
Lambs have been weaned! If anyone is looking for market lambs, 4-H lambs, or replacement ewe lambs, I will sell them at current market price according to their weight at the time of sale. I haven't gotten weaning weights on them yet but most of them look to be about 70-80 lbs. Located near Woodworth, ND. Message me for more information!
The lambs are growing up fast! I was able to get a few of my favorites on the stand today, and wow! Of course, since this was the their first time on the stand, they don't look as good because they're pulling back. But they are so growing very well and fast! Enjoy the comparison pictures of when they were young to now!
Lamb races!
Valentine babies! ❤
February 14 was an exciting day with an emergency c-ection on a ewe due to ringwomb (their cervix doesn't open up enough for a lamb to fit through). Dee-Dee had 2 healthy ewe lambs and is healing up well from her surgery. Athena and Aphrodite are also doing great. Athena had a birth weight of 7 lbs 9 oz and Aphrodite's birth weight was 9 lbs 14 oz.
On the 15th, the ewe I've been watching forever, Milly, decided to lamb! She had 2 healthy big boys, Sammy and Buddy. Sammy had a birth weight of 11 lbs 13 oz and Buddy had a birth weight of 9 lbs 13 oz. I was expecting triplets out of this ewe but when she had 2 big twins, that explained why she was so big!
The same day, around 8:00 pm, Amy had a big ram lamb, Andy. She had ended up needing help lambing because, one, she was a first time lamber, and two this ram lamb was born at 11 lbs 12 oz! It took a few minutes to get him out, but eventually we did!
Lamb overload!!
Starting way back on February 9, Mia had a ram lamb that has been named Gabe. His birth weight was 10 lbs 8 oz.
Then, February 10, there was 4 lambs born! In the morning, Twilight had twins, a boy and a girl! The girl is Olivia and the boy is Lane. Olivia had a birth weight of 10 lbs 1 oz and Lane had a birth weight of 10 lbs 4 oz. Later that evening, Jade had twins, also a boy and a girl! The girl is Ivy and the boy is Noah. Both lambs had the same birth weight of 9 lbs 13 oz.
On February 11, Tiffany started out in the morning with a big ram lamb that was coming head first. It took a bit to get him out, but he came out healthy and BIG. The lamb, named Mason, had a birth weight was 12 lbs 1 oz!
Finally on the 12, Carly had twin boys that are named Alan and Jackson. Alan weighed 9 lbs 7 oz and Jackson weighed 9 lbs 3 oz!
That wraps up this post for now. But today was an "exciting" day with a ewe needing a C-section. Sneak peak picture of the lambs at the end of the pictures! Both lambs and ewe are currently doing awesome!
We've got new babies and bouncing babies tonight!
A whole bunch more babies!
On February 7, Emily had twin Suffolk ewe lambs! They have a been named Aniela and Dara. Aniela weighed 10 lbs 7 oz and Dara weighed 10 lbs 14 oz.
On February 8, Tippy had twin Samm (South African Meat Merino) ewe lambs! Their names are Tien and Dina. Tien weighed 8 lbs and Dina weighed 7 lbs 8 oz.
On February 9, Valerie had twin Samm babies! One is a boy named Seraphim and one is a girl named Seraphina. Seraphim weighed 9 lbs 13 oz and Seraphina weighed 7 lbs 3 oz.
There is a few more babies on the ground but I don't have good pictures of them so they will be posted later!
Lambs!!
Another Suffolk single baby! Pebbles had a big ewe lamb on Febraury 7, early in the morning. She had her all by herself. This ewe lamb, named Pearl because of her white tipped ears, weighed 10 lbs 14 oz! She is a pretty ewe lamb and will more than likely be kept for a replacement this year!
Lambing has started! It started about a week ago with a tough loss of both babies and the mom. 😔 The next ones, born February 3, didn't go great either. There is one surviving lamb out of five. The ewe, which is Tilly who had the Golden Girls last year, is now taking care of him and they are enjoying each other. The surviving lamb was a little boy, weighing 5 lbs 8 oz. He is named Tucker.
The next night, February 4, I had a single boy out of the ewe Trixie, named Re*****on, aka Remi, born just before 10 p.m. that weighed 9 lbs 10 oz. Then, just before 12 a.m., Mallory had twin boys born! They were named Smith and Wesson. Smith weighed 9 lbs 13 oz and Wesson weighed 8 lbs 10 oz!
I have a bunch of ewes due in the next few days so hopefully I can keep updated!
Lambing season is just around the corner, with about a week until the first due date! Finally finishing up preparations for the lambs to come by setting up the lambing kits, setting up and bedding the jugs, and making the pens for the sheep that got moved in last weekend! Can't wait for the little ones! 😊🐑
It is almost Christmas! And I am improving my videos! I have been videoing with my phone for the past few years but have decided to use one of the cameras we have. So the next few videos might not be as well edited as it will be edited on the computer instead of my phone. This Christmas break I will be prepping my ewes for lambing so please subscribe to my channel to see that and lambing in a little over a month! 🐑

My Last Video With My Phone! (Hopefully🤗) Well, in the near future, hopefully I will be videoing on a camera instead of my phone. Yippee! 🤗
