🏕️Join Rising Scholars Cypress College for Camp Eaton: Healing Retreat!

Want to go zip lining? Rock climbing? Swim in the pool and end the days with a campfire and healing circle? Yessss?!?! And do it with your Rising Scholars community - all expenses paid for? 🙌🏼

Well! We will be hosting a retreat (along with LBCC Justice Scholars) at Camp Eaton, just north of Pasadena Friday, June 14th - June 16th (leaving in the morning so that folx have time to celebrate Father’s Day, if they wish to do so!)🌟

I am writing to you to request your assistance in either taking (if you qualify) or sharing a survey I am conducting to help better understand the quality of higher education being offered inside prison settings. This research is an integral part of the MSW thesis that my partner and I are working on for graduation.

Please consider taking this survey if the criteria below apply to you, or please share it with friends or colleagues or networks to whom you think might reach an audience who meet the survey participation criteria.

If you are 1) formerly incarcerated
2) and attended some form of college in prison
3) and continued higher education after your release from incarceration, you are eligible to participate in this survey.

Under the supervision of Dr. Thom Davis, two graduate researchers in the MSW program at California State University San Bernardino want to learn about your experiences.

Researchers would like to gain a better understanding of the quality of education being provided inside prison and if this education is comparable to the education you received after release. This study has been approved by the California State University, San Bernardino Institutional Review Board.

The Insight Garden Program is collaborating with Next Gen(Digital literacy) to enroll Low income folks with an emphasis on Formerly incarcerated folks. Anyone on Cal-fresh, Medi-cal and any other Gov program you may qualify for. They are having a 2-step event program to help you enroll in the program, which provides the following for qualified people: Up to $30/month discount for internet service Up to $75/month on tribal lands for internet service  A one-time discount of up to $100 for a laptop, tablet or other device
