Kindergarten and pre-k Registration will be held March 18, 19, and 21, 2024 from 3:30-5:30 each day at T.R. Simmons.

Spring registration for the 24-25 school year requires that students will be 5 on or before September 1, 2024 for incoming kindergarteners. Families must provide 2 proofs of city residency using a mortgage/lease and utility bills. Students should attend registration with their family on the assigned day. Registration for our pre-k program is not confirmed until the registration window closes, and is not on a first-come, first serve basis. Spring registration does not guarantee fall enrollment, and proof of residency will be required again at fall enrollment.

Registration packets can be picked up outside of the school at the front doors. Please do not return the packets until your assigned time for registration.

To clarify our previous post:

We are excited to work with Children’s of Alabama to improve our patient care in many ways while still functioning as a privately owned primary care pediatric practice.

We now have access to all of your child’s medical records from Children’s of Alabama. This includes emergency room, inpatient admissions or outpatient specialist appointments. This helps us to take better care of your child when they follow up in our office, and we are able to help keep track of referrals made in our office. Your child will still need to follow up with their specialist as scheduled.

Trained nurses at Children’s of Alabama also assist us with answering after hours questions and can help you determine if your child needs to seek immediate care or if you can treat at home until we are open.

We are excited to announce Dabbs and Hyland Pediatrics is now associated with Children’s of Alabama! If your child recieves care at any COA facility we can now access your child’s medical records through Children’s medical portal. All you have to do is list us as your childs primary care facility. We believe this is a huge asset in assisting us in providing optimal care for your child as well as improving our referral process.

We will be seeing sick patients only and offering rapid testing only for Flu, Strep, Covid and RSV. Please call ahead first to see if your needs can be met via telephone. Meet Dr. Lacy Heberlig!

Dr. Lacy Heberlig is from Perry, Georgia. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology from Penn State University in 2014, and attended medical school at the Medical College of GA. She completed her residency at Emory University in 2023.

After completing residency, Dr. Lacy moved to Alabama to be closer to her fiancé’s family and started practicing at Dabbs and Hyland in August of 2023. In her spare time, she likes to spend time with her fiancé, Andrew, and her dog, Clark, watching Alabama and Penn State football, running, cooking, and reading.

We are proud to be the only office in the county with two Board Certified Pediatricians, Dr. Cameron Diaz and Dr. Lacy Heberlig. We also have two of the best Nurse Practicioners in the area with 10 years experience in pediatric care each, Alicia Jill Saunders and Emily Wright.
