Carlo Driggs revisits his old middle school. Back in 2016 when I was working with Carlo Driggs. He was getting his autobiography completed at the time. We came up with the idea of making a mini documentary to start with that was to be like a video introduction for his book. On this middle October day 2016 we went to his old junior high school. Citrus Grove Jr. Hi School. 2153 NW 3rd St, Miami, FL 33125. After having so much time passing of this video sitting on private mode. I am posting it for all see. And enjoy. ( it was windy that day, turn up the volume, a bit, but it does improve as the video progresses. )

After watching the video myself in depth in details I did not realize that Carlo gives the address of his childhood teenage home location. 1804 Nw 1st Street Miami. And if you put that address in to google maps and go on street view there it is about 3 or 4 blocks from Citrus Grove Middle school. You can see the home where Carlo spent his teen years.
The next video I am going to get shared posted. Is where we went over to what WAS the Cheetah Club where Dave and The Wanderers got their start.

Finally found the name and artist of tv theme show 40 years later.
So back in 1983 a new show on NBC called The Rousters.
Premise: read this.
Wyatt Earp III (Chad Everett) works as a bouncer for the traveling Sladetown Carnival, run by "Cactus Jack" Slade (Hoyt Axton). Wyatt doesn't care for his embarrassing name or the legacy it represents, but his shotgun-toting mother Amanda (Maxine Stuart) wants to carry on the "family tradition" of keeping law and order through bounty hunting.

Wyatt's brother Evan (Jim Varney) has a penchant for con artistry and bungled repair-work; this character is mostly comic relief. Slade's lion-taming daughter Ellen (Mimi Rogers) is dating Wyatt and tutoring his teenage son Michael (Timothy Gibbs).

It was a good show but it only lasted 13 episodes.

And it had a great cast.

It had Chad Everett who played the lead.

And Jim Varney ( the guy who did the hey Vern). His first major tv prime time placement.

Maxine Stuart who played the grandmother ( she was well known from the Clint Eastwood movies Any Which Way You Can. )

And finally it had Hoyt Axton.

Not a bad set of actors and characters at all.

Also is had Stephen Cannell who was the producer and writer of the show. If his name is familiar. Well he produced and wrote for

Tenspeed and Brown Shoe (1980), and was soon followed by The Greatest American Hero (1981–1983), The Quest (1982), The A-Team (1983–1987), Hardcastle and McCormick (1983–1986), Riptide (1984–1986), and Hunter (1984–1991).

Not to shabby at all.

And it had this really cool opening theme song to the show.

An open lyric line goes

"Tough, like the steel of the wheel
That turns the world around"

And the writer of this song is a guy Mike Post. Who wrote most of the theme
songs that Steven J Cannell wrote.
A most popular one many would know is the A-TEAM theme song.
So back to 1983, the show only appears 13 times.
I really like that lyric line that just set with me well for some reason as in the opening credits they show some imagery that set the song off well.
So at the end of the show they run the credits but they are so fast I can never find out the name of the song. Or even the name of the guy who sings it.
Even though now I see it on youtube.
So 40 years this part of the song has been living in my brain rent free.
And finally a few days ago it came up on my social media tik tok account.
I see it Ronnie Milsap, and the song is called Tough Enough.
It was worth the wait.

So while hike in these long straight aways. Way in the distance I see a roadrunner. But it moves way to fast before i can even get it in photo.

So in my mind I think I am not going to chase the roadrunner as then I will be on the level real world version of Looney Toon cartoon in the role of the coyote chasing the roadrunner.

So in the back of my mind thinking it would be nice to have something as proof as my encountet with runner. So as I made my way down that path. And when I got down to where I saw it. There was a huge tail feather on the ground.

I picked it up and tucked in my pocket with the excitment of think I just found the holly grail of a roadrunner.

After getting back home searched on google for examples to compare it to.

This is what I fround on google.

The real deal. So technically I have more from a roadrunner than the Looney Toon coyote has ever gotten. 🤔

So this pass Friday I went hiking / rockhounding in the north part of Las Vegas spare of the moment plan.
I hiked about 3 miles (90 minutes) into the desert into a new area to look at rocks. My hobby.
After about 30 minutes I hwar and look up and see 4 Apache helicopter gunships baring down. On me.
My first though in my mind was. Am i in some place I am not supose to be.
Like something from a movie. Well they flew over head. Followed by 4 Thunderbird airplanes, then a single. Blackhawk gunship.
It was very cool.
But since I know Nellis Airforce bases is nearby these were just regular training missions. But if someone did not know that they would have been scared sh*tless having 4 Apache gunships coming straight at them.

So it was a day ago that I learned that famed Drummer Sandy Nelson passed away at the age of 83, in his adopted hometown of Boulder City, NV. Back in 2016 me and my cohost Jersey Mike had the pure enjoyment of meeting Sandy Nelson. For an hour and 24 minutes we got to learn all about his life, his journey in music during that silver /gold time period of music in the late 50’s, and 1960s.
This is a video that I shot after completed the audio podcast. He literally took us outside for some street side entertainment, and his shiny of humor and spirit that his is.
