On this day, two years ago, I learned about transcendental meditation. We were in the middle of the pandemic, I had zero work and nothing but time. I remember feeling really low, anxious and my energy had been depleted over the state of everything. A David Lynch video on creativity caught my imagination one day, as I heard him talk about how his meditation practice helped him find deep levels of peace, inner fulfillment and creativity… I followed my curiosity down a rabbit hole of information and ended up chatting with a lovely local teacher. It was all very serendipitous. This practice is something I never could have predicted falling in love with. I’ve been a hustle-and-go person for as long as I can remember. Learned from watching my dad, the hardest working person I ever knew. However, as I started my own practice, even from day one, something started to shift. Life started to come easier. Things falling into place almost magically. My focus was clearer, my ideas came to the surface with ease, and I started naturally taking steps towards making my life better.. things I had never been able to commit to before. It’s definitely not all easy, and I’m currently dealing with some difficult stuff, but regular meditation has helped me handle everything so much more smoothly. It’s also influenced a whole new approach to my creating art, and my mission as an artist. So with that I say, here is a reminder to take time to rest your brain. It’s amazing what we are capable of when we give ourselves a break from the deluge of daily thoughts, endless scrolling, and constant hustle of life. I can’t believe I made it to two years, sitting twice a day for 20 min. ✨

Curious to know if any of you reading this also has a meditation practice? Let me know below!

Heyo! 👋 Wanted to say hi to all the new folks connecting here for the first time! I’m Holly Danger, a video artist based in Stamford, CT. I’ve been playing with motion gfx, video, light and sound since the early 2000s. I worked various video and graphics jobs over the years and finally quit my day job in 2019 to pursue being an artist full time. I wish I left sooner! It was pretty bad timing since the next year was the start of Covid, but now I’ve gotten a taste of what is possible with a massive life change like that. I have my own immersive studio, and am currently working on creating immersive installations and video art for galleries, museums, and live performance events! Any space can be transformed with light and each work is created custom for the space it lives in! I recently got into making mini models to help conceptualize new work so you’ll see a lot of my experimentation and creative process here! Thanks for connecting! If you’re an artist/creator let me know below! I’d love to check out your work as well. 💓

We’re working on a new video art installation concept, building out a physical model with balsa wood and projecting on it with a tiny piqo projector! These are just a few teaser clips but I’ll be sharing more soon!

One year ago my installation “Let in, Let go” was at the Museum!! It was the first exhibit after being closed for a year due to the pandemic. This was really special to me because it was also the first time that many people had even ventured out of the house to do something social. We were all still masked, and only a few people could be in the space at a time, but it was a beautiful transitional moment to ease ourselves back into the world again. I’ll never forget this experience and want to thank all of you who came out to support!!

Special thanks to and the Museum for helping make this happen!!

The beautiful music in this video (and used during a scene of the installation) is called “Iceland” by the awesome

Does this happen to you? When I start a new project I love to completely immerse myself in chaos! 😂 I surround myself with mood imagery, color palettes, words, sketches, photos…Anything that keeps me held in the present moment of the concept. It’s intimidating and exhilarating to create something from nothing and staring at a blank canvas, so staying present, and surrounding myself in the vibe has helped me focus and stay motivated through all the ebbs and flow of the creative process.

This image was taken a few months ago when diving into the early stages of our Moonbase installation. It was my first time developing a video art piece for a sculpture and there were so many unknowns to work through..like any exciting new piece you’ve never made before!

I’ve since ripped down all the chaos of inspiration from my walls, clearing the gallery of my clutter, burning some palo santo, and am gearing up for the next one!!

Can you relate? 🙃
