"BOX" an original VR Art Music Video by Carrie Able

Carrie Able performs her original song "Box" inside a virtual reality painting she sculpted in a VR headset in the air. Able is joined by the original chorography of her dancers Pink Supakarn and Kate Griffler Kate Griffler. Footage of the dance was captured by Aaron Zimmerman in Brooklyn NYC.

This is a oil painting portrait i did years ago, that was how i got my start with art was doing commissioned portraits from the age of 14. I found after some years of doing photorealistic art I was much more interested in surrealism and exploring how i viewed the world rather than how it objectively appeared. This is actually what i believe will happen with AI, i think it will make artists push themselves to create something that is clearly human made and from a human viewpoint— much the way that the invention of the camera made paintings become more interesting- there was no longer a need to just document reality anymore so artists got even more creative.

I cant even express how magical this collaboration with has been! The remix from my project with the John Legend Web3 music team is now out- the winning version is a 16 year old from Taiwan- he is so incredibly talented and has been told he couldnt be a real producer so please share this song far and wide so we can prove them wrong! What made you fall in love with XR? Here I am working on VR Painting in mid-air circa 2017 in Manhattan at what used to be known as "jump into the light". I will never take for granted the ability to paint with light in the air.

Selfie i took inside the interactive Virtual reality painting Im building inside my favorite virtual world in the Metaverse IWO . People from all over the world can be inside the immersive painting at the same time. The explanation I like to give is its like when Mary Poppins jumps into the chalk drawing ( google a clip if you havent seen).
