Tips For Grooms on Their Wedding Day

You always see tips for bride’s and everything a bride needs to do before the wedding day, but what about the groom? It can be super rare to find tips for grooms on their wedding day! Here are a few that will make your day flow so much smoother!

1. Try not to party too hard the night before! This one should be a given right? Wrong! Think about it! Do you really want to be hungover while you’re walking down the aisle on one of the most important days of your lives? HECK NO! Party it up a couple days before!

2. EAT! The morning and/or day will probably be rushed! Taking the time to eat a nice breakfast will help you chill out before the chaos unravels. Note to possibly stay away from any foods that will make you bloated!

3. Make sure you ACTUALLY know where the rings are. We’ve all seen the movies haven’t we? Day of the wedding, rings get lost, everyone’s freaking out, and you find them at the last minute! (Hopefully that is) This can all be avoided if you KNOW the rings are in a safe place.

4. Start the day early! This is your one perfect day! It's typically inevitable that at least SOMETHING will go wrong. Even if it’s the smallest tiny thing. You don’t want to be rushed trying to get ready AND trying to fix whatever the problem may be.

5. Gussy up! Don’t know what that means? Neither did I until like 20 minutes ago. Basically, it means to dress up real nice! We all know that the bride gets hair, makeup, mani, and pedi done. You should too! Get a really nice hair cut, maybe a professional shave, get a manicure, and maybe even a pedicure! Pedicures are perfect if you’re going to have a beach wedding! Nobody wants to walk down the aisle with troll feet! This is your big day too! Enjoy it!

What are the 5 C’s when planning an event?

GREAT question! Let’s break it down.

Concept. What do you want event attendees to feel? Once you determine that, it’s time to figure out the details on how to make that feeling happen. WHAT your event is, WHO is your target audience, WHY are you planning it? ...What is your event's purpose? Finding the concept and vision is always the first step in planning a successful event.

Coordination. We all have some sort of coordination right? Yes, but can you balance appropriately? This step is about taking all of the tasks of your event, (coordinating times, budget, vendors, advertising, decorations, food, etc…) distributing them amongst team members, and making sure that everything runs smoothly. Organization and communication are key.

Control. This is perhaps the most important step in planning an event. However, it can oftentimes be overlooked. To be in control of an event, you have to be on top of everything and plan for the worst case scenario. What if your vendor cancels? What if your budget is low? What if there is an emergency? There are so many components to think about when planning an event so being in control of everything is essential to a successful event.

Culmination. The big day is here! Your event is happening and you and your team have got to study every little detail. Overwhelming right?! That’s okay! You’ve planned well and all of your work has led to this! Make sure your guests know EXACTLY what to do at all times! A great way to go about this is to provide a detailed itinerary. It may even be a good idea to rehearse the event if possible! Keep in mind, not everything may go as planned! Your speaker is not working. Do you have a spare one? Make sure to plan for the unexpected!

Closeout. You’re alllllllmost done! After your event, you want to ensure that if there are any payments to be made, they’re taken care of, and all contracts are completed. The final step is to finalize an evaluation process! How did event attendees feel? How did your planning team feel? What was good? What was bad? Take all of this information and make a note of it! Make sure to figure out if there were any kinks to work out for next time!!

Hi everyone!! 🤩

My name is Kennedy and I LOVE everything and anything about social events!

I am from Vancouver Island, Canada and have lived here all of my life. My favourite catchphrase is Fix Your Life. The catch is that you have to say it sarcastically, opposed to soothing and caring. I am also my town’s current ambassador! Going through that process taught me public speaking skills as well as a love for community. It actually led me down the path to discover what career path I want to take. Seeing the committee around me work to plan the events that I attended was truly fascinating. I KNEW that I needed to be planning events asap.

I wanted to start this page to combine my love for writing and event planning. Here you will find a combination of wedding planning tips, colour schemes, themed event ideas, as well as many more!
