We all beat ourselves up time from time because we have become so emotional, but emotions are normal. We all feel happy, sad, low and we all process emotions differently.

But this week I have been finding myself more emotional with the news and the lack of sleep. Do you struggle to control your emotions when you are sleep deprived?

A lack of sleep can make us feel more emotionally sensitive and my emotions become amplified, with me being more likely to respond in a rash. And this is why I meditate and self reflect, it allows me to identify what is out of sync for me and then I can introduce/implement what my body needs. It can be an early night, a soak in the bath or just a self care evening.

What are you like when you don't get enough sleep?

💜 Following on from the Love Languages.
🌟 Some things we can do for ourselves that will help to fill us up x

18/02/2022

If you followed our show this week, we talked about the 5 love languages and said what our love language was. Mine is quality time and laughter, it absolutely invigorates me, “A day without laughter is a day wasted.”

Laughter makes us happy, but it also has actual health benefits helping with managing everyday life and its stress because laughter engages the body and releases the mind.

Some benefits include:
- Manage your hormones - reduces the level of stress hormones but increases the level of health-enhancing hormones.
- Nice internal workout - A good belly laugh exercises the diaphragm.
- Positive frame of mind - Laughter brings the focus away from negative emotions.

Watch the show on and see what happens when Jo left us in charge.🤣

💜 Have you done the quiz yet?

I really understand what Gary Chapman says here

Most people show love through their own love language because that makes them feel loved, heard and seen

But if it is not your partner, children, parents, friends or even work colleagues love language they won’t feel the love

Once you understand the different love languages, you we be able to workout other people’s and create a better relationship

16/02/2022

Did you get a chance to listen to Monday’s live chat?
It was definitely live we literally fell into it 😂
Anyhow have you checked the quiz? (in the comments below if you haven’t)

How many times do we lose ourselves to make others happy, then they may move on or we feel resentful for not being understood?

Life is about changing but you must be true to yourself, accept who you are, appreciate and love you. When you do, you are at peace, liberated and more understanding. Then the magic happens, those of the same nature will see you shine bright.

You are unique, you are beautiful, you are special so LOVE you.

10/02/2022

💜 I thought this was a really good point💜

Even when we are on our healing journey each step, phase, plateau comes with new insights, feelings, anxiousness, sadness and more.

We are always under construction from one aspect of our lives, be it physical, mental, emotional or spiritual.

It is knowing and understanding this that gets us through, oh and good friends 💜

08/02/2022

Being Valentines next week ❤️

Our topic of conversation next Monday will be about Love Languages!

Have you read the book? how do you implement this in your life?

07/02/2022

Does other people’s behaviour affect your inner peace?

This week on the show we talked about self-care and I wanted to mention how sometimes other people’s behaviours affects our inner peace. They may trigger certain emotions in us, and we can spend hours, days and even weeks replaying those scenes/texts and feeling those emotions. If we allow it, it can eat away at us or it can liberate us, we have control over how we react.

It’s not always easy and sometimes we just can’t help/control ourselves, forgive yourself!

About cultivating inner peace, start small and recognise what works for others may not work for you. The first step is adopting a good attitude, be gentle with yourself and commit to baby steps. If you’re cynical, it will block you from reaching this calm state of mind. You need to bring an open mind before you can have inner peace.

Here is one suggestion:
1. Think of commitments or habits that stress you out and chose one that you could stop
2. Add something that relaxes you, this can be a short walk.

🥳💜🌟 We have a Birthday in the house today!

Our very own beautiful soul Jo 💜 we all wish you a Happy Birthday and an abundant year ahead
———————————
💙 Have you found yourself saying:-

“ I’m so tired”
“I can’t put one foot in front of the other”
“I just need to sit down!”
“I can’t think straight “
“I’m so tired, I can’t sleep”

And everyone says
“Yes,I completely understand, I feel the same way”

💙 What would our response be to someone that says:-

“I feel so good because I take time out for me”
“If I don’t drink 8 cups of water a day my body feels dehydrated “
“Life is so much smoother when I slow down”

💙 More than likely we would respond with:-

“Alright for some!”
“Would be nice if i had that sort of time”
“I’m just too busy to find time for that”

💙 Are we so busy that we have forgotten how to rest and play?

💙 Here are some ideas for different areas of rest

Physical:- For about 5 minutes purposely choose to be still, get comfy, maybe under a blanket and lie on the sofa

Mental:- To help with brain fog you could inhale or diffuse ( DoTerra) Lemon essential oil and for calming you could use Lavender

Emotional:- Write down how you are feeling and then ask yourself why you think you are feeling those feelings. You may be surprised at what you learn about yourself

Social:- This does not mean no socialising, it means be with the people who know you warts and all. The people you can be your true authentic self with

Sensory:- Find sounds that are pleasing to your soul, bird song, peaceful piano, the sea, the wind

Creative:- Paint, sew, play an instrument and if these things are not for you then go to an art gallery, a museum, a quirky cafe and feel the creativity in the environment

Spiritual:- This sort of rest makes you feel that you belong, you are seen, that we have meaning in our life. Try yoga, church, reading uplifting books, walking in nature

💙 This is just a few ideas to get you thinking and adding in “rest” time in small manageable ways 💙

Read the caption with an open mind….

It can be very hard to be criticized! It may be a trigger! On the other hand its good to hear what they think, quite often things are said with love.

This doesn’t mean you need to go with what they are saying.

I know regardless of who ever has been criticized, we will go off and chew it over in our mind.

It’s a good thing to check in with yourself.

What’s is your thoughts on this?

Self Care

30/01/2022

It's fun all the way when we all get together 😆

We're ready for our broadcast tomorrow where we're going to be talking about self care - a huge subject that's different to each one of us and something that can change at different stages of our life.

Come and join us live tomorrow at 11.30am - we can't wait to see you then!

We all come from different places, have different tastes, different experiences and different views and then why do we expect everyone to be the same?

I believe difference should be embraced. I believe disagreements are a great opportunity to collaborate and evolve as a person, and it could open you up to a different set of points and ideas.

But I do feel at time we like to win an argument because we think we are right especially with someone who has a different opinion to us. So we may start to dig our heels in..... social media has examples of hostile exchanges.

It is important to have a point of view and you should have a right to express that BUT it is also normal for others to have a different view.

Its time we started to respect differences…

Ways to Show Respect When People Have Different Views Than You
• Be an active listener.
• Don’t take things personally.
• Accept that you won’t have the same conclusion.
• Don’t treat the conversation as a competition.

💜 In this fast paced world that we live in and always being able to be connected 24 hours a day, we forget that we need to be
🌟 Quiet
💙 Slower
🌟 Reflective
💙 Resting
🌟 Silent
We can not be blooming 🌸 all the time.
Taking notice of nature and it’s seasons would help us within our seasons
🌼 Seasons of hibernation
🌸 Seasons of growth
🌼 Seasons of blooming
🌸 Seasons of letting go
💜 Be gentle with yourself, stop comparing, when a rose blossoms it does it when it is ready not because the bud next to it has started!
🌟 Take your time with YOU because only YOU know when it is time to Bloom 🌸

Do you know the story of the two wolves?

A grandfather was talking to his grandson, telling him,

"I have two wolves barking inside of me. The first wolf is filled with anger, hatred, bitterness and mostly revenge. The second wolf inside of me is filled with love, kindness, compassion and forgiveness."

"Which wolf do you think will win?" the young boy inquired.

The grandfather responded "Whichever one I feed."

Regardless to the type of person you are or what kind of life you lead, you will find yourself battling two conflicting emotions at some point in your life.
Whether the fight is between anger and peace or resentment and compassion, its important to recognise the conflicting feelings inside you and to feed the values and choices the matter most.

Did you catch our live yesterday? We just loved discussing mindfulness and sharing our views and various ways of being mindful.

If you saw this you'd have realised we all do this differently - and that's ok. Maybe you use similar methods to us or perhaps you have another technique that you want to share with others, we'd love you to share it with us if so!

Here is the book Kathy referred to in our session - The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. It's a great read, very powerful so popping this here for anyone who wants to grab a copy here's your reference.

Let us know how you get on.

Winter can be challenging for most of us, cold, gloomy, dark days without anything to look forward to and on top of that we had a ‘Blue Monday’ this week, allegedly the most depressing day of the year.

The day where the financial pressure of Christmas hangs over us, the weather is at its worst, the extra pounds are not shifting and we’re feeling guilty for already breaking our New Year’s Resolutions.

Whether you believe in ‘Blue Monday’ or not is your choice but we all have good and bad days. While we can’t control many of the challenges around us, we can do a lot to protect our mental health and wellbeing.

Some tips:
• Focus on the good things
• Be grateful for what has/is happening in your life.
• Laugh a lot more
• Use positive affirmations

Do you have any that we can add to our list?

💜 Today is National Acceptance Day 💜

Being acceptable of other people, their choices, their actions, their intentions is something we need to remember daily, and sometimes we may find that difficult because it goes against what we stand for. So having a special day for it just jogs ourselves to be more mindful about accepting things that go on around us.

BUT
What about self acceptance?
How good are we at that?
Most of us are not great at this, we naturally go to the negative thoughts that sit quietly within.
Self acceptance is not necessarily liking the negative about ourself, it is about accepting what it is, that means that we choose to allow it to be there when we can’t change it in that moment.
🌟 To make space for it
🌟 To allow ourself permission to be as we are
🌟 Feel what we feel
🌟 Experience what we have experienced
By doing this, it can stop us from creating unproductive feelings and actions towards ourselves and others
💙Acceptance is a process that we must practice
💙Acceptance doesn’t mean that you can’t work on or change things
💙Acceptance doesn’t mean you are excepting things will be this way forever
💙we can practice acceptance towards people, experiences, ideas, appearance, emotions and many more things

💜 Today is am asking you to accept yourself where you are and to be extra gentle with yourself 💜

The magic of 27! How to move your energy!

Are you feeling stuck in life, struggling to move forward?

I don’t know about you but I’m very often a cluttered person when I work ! I like to see things around me but if I want to start a new project, changing my surroundings makes a HUGE difference in my perspective, it clears a path for me to think straight.

Just rearranging a room, you don’t need to do much but it changes the flow in energy for yourself.

Pick up 27 things, you can place them back in the same place if you want or put them away or recycle of them even.

27 is a powerful Yang number in Feng Shui give it a try and notice how fresh you will feel. 🌼

How are you ending your day?

The way we end our day si just as important as how we start our day.

Having a good wind down & bed time routine contributes to a more settled night's sleep, helps to reduce anxiety, prepares our bodies for what's to come and maintains our natural circadian rhythm.

There are lots of things that can help us prepare for the ending the day and stepping into a nice relaxed night's sleep. Some useful things are:

(1) Have a cut off time from social media or television. These items will keep us stimulated and our minds overactive and it will be harder to switch off.

(2) Softer, warm lighting can alter our mood and help calm us. It can help ease us into a more relaxed state and help us get ready for bedtime.

(3) A nice warm bath or shower using bathing products which will enhance our ability to relax. It's important when we prepare ourselves for night time that we look after all of us including taking care of our mind, emotions and body.

There are so many things that can be done to help us have a better night's sleep.

What's your bedtime routine or tip tip?

I was weeding my flower beds when I noticed some beautiful shoots and flowers that had been hidden away. I remembered waiting impatiently for months, but nothing, I get side-tracked and here they are growing tall.

It reminded me of saying that when you want something to happen, paying too much attention leads to pain and the belief that it’s not coming. But when you forget it, it arrives in its own time.

We all place too much attention waiting for the toned abs, waiting on someone’s call, the job offers, the date or the inflow of money. All it does is.... it make us miserable when it doesn’t arrive in OUR time.

But you need to believe it’s coming, not worry about a single thing because it will arrive in its own time and for me this has always been a challenge. I can’t let things go, I like to be in control and I want to know when my order is coming.

Thankfully life knows what’s best for me, and my delivery is always better than what I could have imagined.

🌸 The words that flow through our minds about ourselves can be, positive or negative, they can be building us up or tearing us down.
🌼 Most of the time our thoughts about ourselves are subconscious and go unnoticed.
🌸 These words have been running through our system for years,
I am stupid
I am no good
I am too fat
I am too thin
Who am I
I am unlovable
I have no energy
I am always anxious
I am a failure
I am invisible
🌼 I am sure the list goes on and on!
🌸 Today I am asking you to give a little bit more thought to the words that run through your mind.
How do they make you feel?
How often do you find yourself saying negative things?
Can you remember why you started saying what you say?
🌼 If you can catch yourself saying negative things to yourself try and stop and find something positive to put in it’s place.
🌸 Here are a few to get you going
I approve of myself
I am loveable
I am filled with energy
I am at peace
All my emotions are acceptable
My opinions matter
I am seen
New doors are opening for me
🌼 I wish you a thoughtful, mindful day 🌸

Mindfulness or as Echarte Tolle calls it ‘Being present’ as Mind full ness sounds like you are too busy with a mindful - makes sense to me!

Being present is a state where people try to be aware of what they are feeling and sensing at that time. Not allowing any judgement to come in to their thoughts. Take a few minutes whilst you are doing something today and be fully present.

This could be while you cooking, crafting maybe gardening I always find this is a good time to be present.

A couple of ways to help relax the mind and body therefore reducing stress could be a guided meditation or breath work.

What helps you to reduce stress? do you have any tools you use? We would love to know.

"Today is going to be a good day"

This was the intention I woke with today.

Intentions are very powerful and help us frame how we are going to approach the day ahead.

They also influence how we feel about the day ahead.

What was your thought today about how the day was going to be for you today?

What are you grateful for today?

I used to take my health for granted rushing, multi-tasking, proud to be ‘super woman’ until I became ill and struggled with my breathing. They say, ‘a healthy person has 1,000 wishes and a sick person has 1 wish’ and that was so true for me. I looked forward to the time when I would feel better and I woke up each morning grateful for another chance at life. My health has improved, and I do believe that episode was an eye opener for me.

So now I embody gratitude into my life, even when things aren’t going so well – I believe there is a lesson that I need to learn from that experience.

My gratitude routine🥰
-💛I wake up in the morning and offer gratitude
-💛Sprinkle gratitude throughout my day – I’m not perfect I do tend to forget especially when I am busy
-💛Before bed. I recall something that was important to me, that made me smile that day.

Do you have a gratitude routine?

🌿 Emotional Wellness and Nature 🌿

🌸 Being in nature or even looking at pictures, paintings or photos of nature, can have a calming affect on our minds and emotions, especially stress, anger and fear.

🦋 When you experience nature, either way, it can really help you feel emotionally lifted because nature will help to calm down our blood pressure, muscle tension and heart rate. This gives our bodies a reprieve from these more intense feelings and allows our body to do its job of finding a balance.

🌼 So, do you have a favourite place that helps you feel better? If you do, where is it?

🌳 Is it the woods/forrest 🌊The beach 💧 A lake ☀️ Sunshine ☔️ The rain 🪴 Your garden?

🌏 Is there somewhere that you go to take in an amazing view?

For me it depends upon my mood and what my body needs to shift me into a better space within my mind and body.
If all else fails I have my essential oils as an alternative
🍊 Wild Orange to give me that uplifting, warm abundant feeling
🌲 Balance is a grounding blend and has a few tree oils in, so if I need the woods I will diffuse this oil
💜 And there is always lavender, calming and relaxing, taking me to the wonderful warm fields where the lavender grows.

media1.tenor.co 05/01/2022

Waking up in a groggy mood today?

Why not try something to lift your spirits.

Laughter yoga 😁

I did a session of this yesterday evening and was so uplifted and full of joy afterwards. Might seem a bit strange initially but stick with it and you'll be belly laughing before you know it.

All your worries disappear, your mood lifts, you feel alive, joyful, lighter and awake.

This will also help boost your immune system by decreasing stress hormones and increasing infection fighting antibodies therefore improving your physical health.

Why not give it a go? Get the feel good factor in your life today.

I often hear people say I don’t have the time to meditate or I don’t know how to silence my mind! I totally understand I have been there myself, infact I used that excuse for years before I decided to sit down and try.

Do you know it can just be 5 minutes.. in 4 simple steps?

1. Sit down in comfort.
2. Set a timer for 5 minutes, then close your eyes.
3. Focus just on your breath, be aware of how it feels as your breathe in, is it cold, slow or quick? Can you feel your tummy rising and falling as you breathe out?
4. Just notice each Breath as you inhale and exhale, you don’t need to control it. If your mind wanders just come back to the breathe before you know it that timer will go off!!

5 minutes of mindful meditation combined with breath work, this will improve your mood, boost brain function, reduce stress, slow down the aging process - calm the mind. Will you try it today ?

03/01/2022

Happy New Year to you all.

Today is national mind body wellness day. We all understand and recognise how each of these areas affect each other and ultimately a healthy mind and emotions will contribute to a healthy body.

What great timing at the beginning of the year to to take some time today to think about this.

How is the health of your mind and your emotions right now? are they affecting your wellbeing?

If so maybe now is a time to think about what you need and start to make the changes that will enable you to thrive.
