Women's Board An Affair of the Heart (American Heart Association)
An Affair of the Heart Luncheon and Fashion Show is a highly anticipated Washington event, spanning over seven decades.
In fact, this event is one of the oldest annual fund-raising events of any nationally recognized non-profit group. The Women’s Board joins the AHA’s Go Red for Women campaign in bringing a voice to the silent killer of heart disease to help save lives. Go Red for Women needs you to shatter the silence by choosing to speak up about heart disease. Be part of this joint movement, make healthy choices, speak up and spread the word.

Our hearts are on 🔥 🔥 🔥 for Women’s Board member, Joan Vassos because she been named as the new ! The show and will follow Joan’s quest for love and will air on ABC and stream on Hulu starting this fall.
Joan has been an advocate and supporter of our cause through her work on the Women's Board An Affair of the Heart (American Heart Association) This group is made up of trailblazing women dedicated to saving and improving lives. We are almost a week away from this year’s Affair of the Heart Luncheon! Meet our wonderful WBAHA Co-Chairs Angie Marriott and Kristin Bonacci. Angie first attended An Affair of the Heart Luncheon 35 years ago. Since then, she lost her father to heart disease and has family members with heart issues. Kristin joined the board because of heart issues in both her family and her husband's. Both are passionate about raising money for heart research and have found chairing the board with each other very rewarding. With less than a month until the Affair of the Heart Luncheon meet Kara Walsh and Deb Wells, our co-chairs of the 75th Diamond Jubilee!
Deb and Kara both joined the Women’s Board in 2018 and share a passion for raising awareness and funding research for cardiac related issues. This year both Deb and Kara are celebrating anniversaries as heart survivors. For Deb, this year marks 25 years from her stroke, and nearly 15 years from her first pacemaker. For Kara, after having open heart surgery in 2015 and a cardiac ablation in 2013 she knew she wanted to pay it forward and get involved in AHA.
