I was so inspired by the Republican wins in Virginia this week, and it gave me hope for Oregon!! We need to elect the right candidates for every office, and it takes money to get them there. I'm volunteering for Angela Plowhead who is running for our new Congressional District 6. She's an Airforce Vet, a doctor, a wife and mom, and she will represent our voices--not special interests. Would you please come to her fundraiser dinner Monday night, Nov 8? Let me know, and I'll send you the details and link to register.
Hope to see you there!!

Urgent call to action: Can you write an email in support of our Marion County Commissioners for a resolution requesting local decisions be made regarding masks for students in the upcoming school year? If so, it's due by Tuesday, August 10, at 4pm. Please send a brief note, addressed to the Marion County Commissioners, Commissioners Cameron, Bethell, and Willis. Subject: 8/11/21 BOC Meeting Public Comment. To: [email protected]
Even better, show up in person, Wednesday morning, August 11, 9:00 a.m., 555 Court St NE, Salem!
The resolution requests Governor Brown leave masking decisions to local schools and requests that no resources be expended in enforcing any mask mandates.
A sample note could simply say the following, but please feel free to customize your message: " I support our local schools making the best decisions for our students in regards to masking and other scientifically-based mitigation efforts as they relate to COVID-19. I appreciate the Commissioners' work to resist state-wide mandates that may not be in the best interest of our local community.
Yours sincerely,
Full Name, City of Residence"
Thank you in advance for taking 5 minutes to make a big impact for our students!
There are several petitions/referendums in play that need signatures!! I have 27 and 28 (disallow fines for businesses staying open against mandates), 301 refers the terrible gun bill 554 (2nd Amendment violations) to a vote of the people, and 302 refers HB 2681 (never removing inactive voters--intent is for voter fraud) to a vote of the people. Please get in touch with me to sign these ASAP!

In the May Primary, Democratic SOS candidate Mark Hass said he supported Independent Redistricting. Groups that oppose transparent government then spent a fortune to prop up Shemia Fagan, who in a May 2020 interview with the Oregonian, wouldn't go on record supporting a process that would let PEOPLE, not politicians, draw legislative lines.
This weekend, after lying to newspapers about who was funding her race, this "little" contribution shows up in campaign finance reports.
$100,000 from a PARTISAN organization whose sole purpose is to have a redistricting process that favors Democratic lawmakers over fair lines that favor all citizens.
Let me repeat. $100,000 from one out of state Washington DC organization whose sole existence is to elect people who will gerrymander lines for one party over another.
It's shocking. And it's unacceptable.
I'm proud to have not taken money from groups like this. I'm proud 99% of my funds are LOCAL dollars. I'm committed to a redistricting process that isn't the Secretary of State drawing the lines in a back room with a Sharpie while special interest donors direct traffic on which way the lines will get drawn.
Now we see the truth about why she's running. And thank goodness we see this BEFORE ballots drop.
Folks, next week, you can vote for fairness, transparency and accountable government. Or you can vote for someone who wants to put a FOR SALE sign in front of our elections process. It's a pretty clear choice. Shemia is outspending me over 3-to-1...let's not reward her lies and special interest, out-of-state donors.
Please SHARE SHARE SHARE so voters have a chance to see the truth.
I'm going to be walking around the neighborhood delivering this info today:
Hello Neighbors!
Iâm your local elected Precinct Committee Person, and my main job is to encourage everyone to vote! We only have 23 days until the General Election, and itâs critical that we all make our voices heard. Letâs aim for 100% of us voting!! EVERY VOTE MATTERS! Key dates:
⢠October 13: Last day to register to vote.
⢠October 14-20: Ballots are mailed to us.
⢠October 26: Try to get your completed ballot in the mail by this day or earlier. Good newsâpostage is pre-paid!!
⢠November 3: Ballots must be received by 8:00 p.m. If you donât feel comfortable with mailing your ballotâdrop it in a Ballot Box any time prior to November 3, at 8:00 p.m. There is one conveniently located at City Hall, 930 Chemawa Road, NE, Keizer.
As Republicans, weâre at a severe disadvantage in Oregon because both the Oregon House and Senate have a super majority of Democrats, plus the Governor is a Democrat. This effectively means that the Democrats can pass any legislation without a single Republican vote. So, all of us who voted for our Republican representatives have no voice at all. This is not how our governance is supposed to be. A one-party rule is not good for Oregon. We need to regain balance, with, if not an equal number of Democrat and Republican legislators, at least a more balanced mix so that all Oregonians are represented.
Here are the people I urge you to vote for:
⢠Keizer City Council: Kyle Juran, Ross Day, and Laura Reid
⢠Keizer Mayor: Mayor Cathy Clark
⢠Congressional District 5: Amy Ryan Courser
⢠House District 25: Representative Bill Post
⢠Secretary of State: Senator Kim Thatcher
⢠Treasurer: Jeff Gudman
⢠Marion County Commissioner: Danielle Bethell
⢠Marion County Soil and Water Board Zone 1 Director â Write in Linda Saylor
⢠Judge of the Supreme Court Position 4: Write in Kevin Mannix
⢠Judge of the Court of Appeals Position 9: Write in Kevin Mannix
For other judges, please Google them and read stories about how they typically rule. These are critical positions, and many of them have been appointed by Governor Brown. This gives even more power to Democrats, when what we need are checks and balances across the 3 branches of government.
Thank you, and please let me know if you have any questions at all!
Warm regards,
Jane Herb
