The fact there are people defending Ryan Garcia is astonishing. Had it been Devin Haney that tested positive fans would have been calling for his head but due to the fact that so many don't like Haney they wanna give Garcia a pass. See, this is the BS that I constantly speak of when it comes to boxing fans. Just pure ignorance for real.

Breaking: Ryan Garcia has been suspended one year by the New York State Athletic Commission, sources tell Mike Coppinger.

Garcia’s decision victory over Devin Haney has been overturned to a no contest following positive tests of the PED ostarine. Garcia also forfeited $1.2 million to Golden Boy and was fined $10k by the commission.

Zhilei Zhang scores a 5th round stoppage over Deontay Wilder giving Queensbury Promotions the clean sweep

01/06/2024

Frank Warren and Queensbury Promotions have won the 5 vs 5 competition as W***y Hutchinson, Nick Ball, Hamaz Shareesh, and Daniel Dubois all win their bouts in Saudi Arabia. Even if Deontay Wilder defeats Zhilei Zhang, the two big stoppage wins by Shareesh and Dubois put Queensbury well ahead in points.

Congratulations to Frank Warren and his team of fighters!!!

**IT'S FIGHT DAY**

Right now on ESPN+, former undisputed super lightweight champion Josh Taylor battles Jack Catterall in a rematch live from Leeds, England in the UK. These two had their first meeting in February 2022 on Taylor's home turf Scotland for the undisputed super lightweight championship, with Taylor emerging victorious by a controversial decision over Catterall. Many, including myself, felt Taylor got the benefit of a hometown decision. Although no world title is at stake tonight, the hatred between these two still runs deep. This time though, Taylor goes to enemy territory in Catterall's native England. This is a true grudge match today!!

Ok, as I promised I will explain why I had a change of heart in my opinion that fans owed Devin Haney an apology if it were proven that Ryan Garcia tested positive for PEDs.

The main reason that I've changed my mind is after giving it some thought, all of the venom and vitriol the WBC super lightweight champion has endured, particularly from boxing fans, could turn into a winning situation for Haney. Both Haney and his father Bill have stated that Devin is the next Floyd Mayweather, a claim that had already been disproven in the ring. However, where Haney can really cash in, is with the fans and the way to do this is by doing the one thing Floyd Mayweather did better than anyone outside of perhaps a pre exile Muhammad Ali, and that is to play the villain role to the hilt.

Now, Haney already had many fans who didn't support him due to the outlandish and sometimes inflammatory comments both he and his dad make, but so many more detractors came out of the woodwork after his loss to Garcia. The way I see it, if Haney and his father continue to be who they are, the more fans are gonna wanna see him go down in defeat and we know what that means.......MONEY MONEY MONEY!!!! Because fans will definitely put their butts in seats to see him get destroyed. Obviously it won't be as big as Floyd because we've already seen Haney lose a fight whereas Mayweather never lost as a pro, but. I believe this could work as long as Haney is willing to accept the role of villain and the harsh scrutiny that comes along with it.

**BREAKING NEWS**

It has been confirmed the B sample of Ryan Garcia's drug test which had been taken before and after his dominant performance over Devin Haney last month has tested positive for the banned substance Ostirine.

The matter of disciplinary action now rests with the New York State Athletic Commission (NYSAC).

22/05/2024

As most fans know, today we are supposed to learn the results of the B sample from Ryan Garcia after his A sample tested positive for Ostirine after his win over Devin Haney last month. Hopefully for Garcia it comes back clean but if not he's gonna have to accept full accountability.

As for Haney, I previously stated if Garcia was indeed guilty, fans owed Haney an apology. Well, I have since changed my opinion on that and I will explain why in a post later on.

As of the time in which I'm posting this, no results have been made public yet.

Good morning fight fans!!!

Starting 20 minutes ago on the ESPN+ app a huge fight card live from the Tokyo Dome in Japan as undisputed super bantamweight champion Naoya "The Monster" Inoue defends his title vs Luis "Pantera" Nery.

I believe this is the first boxing card at the Tokyo Dome since February 11, 1990. On that night, Buster Douglas shocked the world by defeating then undisputed heavyweight champion Mike Tyson via 10th round KO. Can Nery pull off the upset today?? I doubt it but as we all know, boxing is the theater of the unexpected. Enjoy the fights y'all πŸ₯ŠπŸ₯Š

Official statement from Devin Haney concerning Ryan Garcia's failed PED test

02/05/2024

All I'm gonna say is this, if this is true, everyone who clowned Devin Haney owes that man an engraved apology

Ryan Garcia failed his doping test the day before and the day of his upset win over Devin Haney, per a Voluntary Anti-Doping Association letter obtained by ESPN.

The banned substance is Ostarine. Ryan Garcia has 10 days to request his B-sample be tested.

23/04/2024

The boxing world is still abuzz just days after Ryan Garcia's 12 round majority decision over previously unbeaten Devin Haney in Brooklyn, NYC.

To say that Garcia played many fight fans, myself included, is a gross understatement. After prefight antics that had most questioning his commitment to the sport and more importantly, his sanity, Garcia put on a career best performance scoring 3 official knockdowns and he most likely would've stopped Haney if not for the actions of referee Harvey Dock, who ruled two additional knockdowns as slips. For his part, Haney put forth a valiant effort, but lacked the strength to keep Garcia at bay. However, he keeps his WBC super lightweight title after Garcia didn't make weight for the bout.

I will have more on what I feel each fighter should do moving forward in my next post.

20/04/2024

**IT'S FIGHT DAY**

WBC super lightweight champion Devin Haney will battle Ryan Garcia live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.

Prelims are being shown right now on DAZN with the main card beginning at 8PM EST on DAZN PPV.

Quick reminder, Garcia is not eligible to win the title after failing to make weight, if he wins tonight the title becomes vacant.

19/04/2024

**BREAKING NEWS**

Ryan Garcia weighed in at 143.2 lbs, 3.2 lbs over the super lightweight limit of 140 lbs and will be forced to forfeit at least $600,000 to WBC super lightweight champion Devin Haney. Their fight will come off as scheduled tomorrow night but Garcia will no longer eligible to win the title. If Garcia defeats Haney, the title will become vacant.

**BREAKING NEWS**

Former WBC heavyweight titlist Deontay Wilder and ex WBO interim heavyweight titlist Zhilei Zhang are finalizing a deal to fight on the undercard of Dimitry Bivol-Artur Beterbiev on June 1st in Saudi Arabia. This fight has potential high stakes involved as both are coming off of decision losses to a resurgent Joseph Parker, Wilder last December and Zhang just a few weeks ago. I believe this fight will be a war for as long as it lasts and these are two of the biggest punchers in the division today. I can't wait for this matchup πŸ₯ŠπŸ₯Š

11/03/2024

As first reported earlier by Variety, former three time heavyweight champion Muhammad Ali is slated to be inducted into the celebrity wing of the WWE Hall of Fame during Wrestlemania weekend. Ali was loosely affiliated with the WWE during the buildup to his 1976 crossover bout vs Japanese wrestling great Antonio Inoki, and was the special enforcer during the main event of the first Wrestlemania. Congratulations to "The Greatest" πŸ₯ŠπŸ₯Š

11/03/2024

This past weekend in Saudi Arabia, former two time heavyweight titlist Anthony Joshua scored a devastating second round KO over former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou in a crossover bout in which many gave Ngannou a shot at winning due to his performance vs Tyson Fury and the fact that Joshua in some of his more recent outings didn't look overly impressive. This fight proved more than anything there are levels to the fight game.

I would say to Anthony Joshua not to waste anymore time on fights vs MMA fighters and focus on trying to get the winner of the upcoming Tyson Fury vs Oleksander Usyk fight in May for the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world or other top contenders within the division.

As for Francis Ngannou, most of us know why he took the fights he did as he made more in two heavyweight bouts in the sport of boxing than he did in the UFC, so obviously he wanted the big payday, but he quickly found out that Joshua wasn't gonna play with him like many suspected Tyson Fury to have done. If Ngannou wants to continue in the sport of boxing, he may definitely wanna face someone more on his level for his next fight, you cannot start at the top and expect success in the sport if you are making the transition from another combat sport.

That's all for now fight fans. Hands up, chin tucked, and keep punching πŸ₯ŠπŸ₯Š

Later on tonight at 10 PM EST from Verona, New York, it's a featherweight championship doubleheader, as Raymond Ford battles Otabek Kholmatov for the vacant WBC title. Then Luis Alberto Lopez defends his IBF strap vs Reiya Abe.

BIG SAMMIE LOOKS BACK: BUSTER DOUGLAS SHOCKS THE WORLD

February 11, 1990 is a date that I will never forget as a boxing fan. On this night, undefeated world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson climbed into the ring at the Tokyo Dome in Japan to face James "Buster" Douglas, who despite being ranked #3 in the world, was a 42-1 underdog heading into the fight. Tyson climbed through the ropes with a record of 37-0, 34 KO's and thought by many, including yours truly, to be invincible. So much so that no venue in the U.S. wanted the fight, which forced promoter Don King to stage the fight in the Land of the Rising Sun, where Tyson had fought once before (KO2 Tony Tubbs, 1988). While Tyson was fully expected to destroy Douglas and move on to a megafight with Evander Holyfield later that year, by 1990 Tyson's life had grown chaotic outside the ring, most notably his marriage to actress Robin Givens. Douglas, whose commitment to the sport had been previously called into question after a 1987 loss to Tony Tucker, had more than enough motivation for the upset.

During preparation for this fight, Douglas' mother died unexpectedly and the mother of his son had been fighting a brain tumor. For the first time in his career, Buster got into amazing shape and was determined to pull off what many thought impossible. Meanwhile, Tyson hadn't trained properly for the fight and was even dropped during a sparring session, which is not uncommon in the sport, but given the aura of invincibility surrounding Tyson at the time, it definitely raised eyebrows. In a monumental upset, Douglas dominated Tyson (save for a controversial 8th round knockdown) en route to a 10th round KO. How unprepared was Tyson?? When his eye began to swell, trainer Aaron Snowell did not have an Enswell in the corner, so he was forced to put cold water inside of a rubber glove. Tyson would eventually regain the title 6 years later, but he was clearly never the same fighter again as the cloak of invincibility was gone.

As for Buster Douglas, he would never again rise to the level in which he fought on this night 30 years ago. In fact he would lose the crown in his first defense, but for one night, Buster Douglas was the best heavyweight in the world.

A deal has reportedly been made for WBC super lightweight champion Devin Haney to defend his title against Ryan Garcia on April 20th in Las Vegas.

My early prediction is for Haney to outclass Garcia but as most fight fans know, boxing is the theater of the unexpected to we shall see how this fight turns out πŸ₯ŠπŸ₯Š

IT'S FIGHT NIGHT!!!!

WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury suffered a cut in training and required stitches, forcing a postponement of the long awaited undisputed heavyweight championship bout vs unified heavyweight champion Oleksander Usyk. Hopefully a new date will be made soon.

02/02/2024

On Tuesday the boxing world was surprised by the sudden retirement of WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson. Personally, I think we'll see him in the ring again as I feel this is just his way of dealing with his frustration at not being able to land a fight vs a top lightweight as he is a high risk low reward opponent, especially after his win over Edwin De Los Santos last November in a snoozer. What are your thoughts on Stevenson and his sudden exit from the sport??
