Hayley’s House Childminding
Ofsted Registered Childminder
🌸 We had lots of fun decorating cardboard Easter Eggs with things we found in the garden.
We had a lovely little walk around the village looking for the first signs of spring today.
The children have been loving these new sensory bottles I put together. At first they were desperate to open them and really did try their best but now they love to give them a shake and watch the pom-poms and glitter dance about and then settle.
🍂 We’re starting our week exploring and painting some autumn treasures. 🍂
🌻 Sunflower lifecycle 🌻
This was such a lovely activity earlier in the week. The children were all fascinated by the seeds and kept coming back to it throughout the morning to try and pick out more seeds.
We’ll keep the seeds and plant them next year.
🌸🐞🐛🐜🐝🌼 We’re thinking about all the things we find in the garden this week.
This is one of my most played with resources … a simple basket of balls.
My littlest learners love to explore the shape and textures with their hands and watch as I throw or bounce them.
My slightly older learners love to try and throw them, roll them and kick them.
We use them to explore colour and compare size too.
So simple but a definite favourite.
Dandelion Playdough ready to go!
🐑 So lovely to be able to stop and watch the lambs on the school run. 🐑
🐛 We’re enjoying watching our caterpillars grow. They’re growing so fast!
🧺 Hanging up the Washing 🧺
A great little activity for developing fine motor skills. I put out a basket of baby clothes, some pegs, pegged up a couple of items and my three year old did the rest. We may now permanently have baby clothes ‘drying’ on the radiator as I’m not allowed to take them down. 😅
First week back after half term and we’ve been busy making pancakes, making Playdough, playing with light, developing our fine motor skills and spotting signs of spring! 🌼
🥞 Happy Pancake Day 🥞
It’s the third day of having this tray of rice, rainbow blocks and wooden animals out and the play is still going from strong! It’s been as popular with my own children as with my younger mindees and they’ve all taken the play in different directions following their own interests and stages of development.
The rice even made it’s way to a tea party!

We’re ready for the RSBP Big Garden Birdwatch.
✨ Some craft bits ready for tomorrow. Keeping it open ended. Let’s see what they make! ✨
❄️ What a chilly but beautiful winter day it was today! 💙
🍕My son made a pizza oven in the play kitchen and cooked me a delicious wooden pizza. 😋
👀 Yesterday my two had fun adding eyes to shells and making Playdough sea creatures. 🐚🐡🐙
❄️ We spent some time exploring the effects of the cold weather in the garden today. Frozen cobwebs are always fascinating! ❄️
Enjoying our homemade mince pies on a cold afternoon.
What the children do with Playdough, loose parts, any resources, always looks better than anything I could set up.
