Always remember that we’re raising the generations in ways we we wish we would have been raised. Denim Day matters!
The toxic culture of the entertainment industry needs to change and we need to stop talking about it.
Let’s REALLY think about how long we have to talk about this before it changes.
Tag a woman who showed you what you were capable of and supported younger you. 💕

Under the reign of Rupert Murdoch, the Fox News empire has been accused of a decades-long culture of s*xual misconduct, violence, and abuse. We thank everyone who came forward to bring attention, awareness, and education to these issues and seek Justice for themselves and fellow victims. There have been far too many. Read about Rupert Murdoch’s step down as media mogul on the VIA blog: voicesinaction.org/blog as we ask if this will usher in a new era of safety and gender equity, or just beget more of the same.

Safety on industry sets is a big topic for us. We put together all the known facts about the recent lawsuit filed against Lizzo and related others by her former dancers on the blog: voicesinaction.org/blog.
The internet has unsurprisingly had many opinions on this topic and we’re interested in the facts as they unfold. But that note comments about weight, size, or skin color will not be deemed relevant to the conversation and will be deleted.

The purest definition of a silence breaker. We are beyond saddened by the loss of Sinéad O’Connor. May we all exhibit such courage and conviction in our lifetimes.

Seeking justice is not an easy process. It is a re-traumatizing and exhausting experience and one which does not always end with justice being served. Thank you to all victims who bravely stand up and speak out against abuse, despite the cost.
It’s been an unimaginable five year tortuous journey only to have an “..Orange County Superior Court judge Friday gut a s*xual assault case against a Newport Beach hand surgeon and his girlfriend who were accused of drugging and assaulting two women, but ordered them to stand trial on drug charges, with the doctor also still facing gun charges.
Orange County Superior Court Judge Michael Leversen said he found the accusers “incompetent” and cited “various differing statements through the years” of what happened when they encountered Dr. Grant Robicheaux, 42, and Cerissa Riley, 36. He also pointed to their “refusal to be examined” after the alleged s*x assaults.” Can you still question why victims decide not to report s*xual assaults inflicted upon them?

A settled case is not a “verdict.” We believe and support Kesha who has spent YEARS speaking out about her experience with Dr. Luke. It is a brave and exhausting journey, not to mention expensive and frustrating. At times, even humiliating. Thank you, for using your voice to stand up for yourself as well as for survivors everywhere. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

My dear friend and colleague wrote an extremely important book I recommend every woman to read. “Caroline Heldman illuminates a path out of the disempowering haze of the Sexy Lie, showing readers that it is only when we seize our bodies back from the war, and make peace with them, that we can know our bodies’ true power—and claim it as our own.” Order your copy today! Two decades, three trials, six years of harassment and eight days of deliberation later there is a verdict in the r**e trial of Danny Masterson: GUILTY. Masterson is facing 30 years to life in prison for multiple, forcible r**es. It is impossible to understand the devastating paths victims of s*xual violence must walk without being a victim yourself. The ripple effect is deep, wide and relentless. Much of the time it may seem as if our voices don’t matter and that silence is our only option but today is not that day. Today, a jury found a ra**st guilty. Today victims transform into survivors. Today we are closer to a safer world for young girls and women and it is because of the tenacity, strength and courage of the survivors of Danny Masterson. Not every victim will have the opportunity to see such justice, in fact, most will not. To the brave women who sacrificed everything, who took the stand in the face of injustice, who looked the person who r**ed them in the face, who suffered through hellish, victim-blaming cross examination, we thank you. We stand with you, always. To C.B, this guilty verdict is yours. Justice would never have been served if it were not for you. To District Attorney’s everywhere who fail to prosecute s*xual assault cases, start prosecuting. Our voices matter. Our bodies matter. We will continue to fight and we will continue to win.

It doesn’t always feel like our voices matter. But the recent conviction of Danny Masterson proves they do. Thank you to the survivors who used their voice to come forward and ensure Justice prevailed. Danny Masterson is now convicted for the r**es he committed.
📣VERDICT WATCH: THE PEOPLE VS. DANNY MASTERSON 📣
The jury received the case yesterday morning after a stunning closing statement from Deputy District Attorney Ariel Anson and Reinhold Mueller. The prosecution carries the burden of proof, they are last to speak to the jury,. Defense Attorney, Phil Cohen, could not say a word. It is now in the hands of the jury. We stand with all victims and we wait for justice.

VERDICT WATCH: R**e trial against Danny Masterson finished with stunning closing arguments by DDA Anson & Mueller; leaving Defense attorney Phil Cohen UNABLE TO OPEN HIS MOUTH. When one is left estimating how many victims of r**e may have been silenced by the hands of bullying, high profile, crisis managing defense attorneys ~ it seems a bit full circle.
