🎶 The Man Who Built a Forest 🌳
🎸 Taking my Strandberg Guitars with me on a trip to Molai Forest, a massive 1360-acre/550-hectare forest planted by ONE single person. That very feat, and the very symbolism of it: an individual literally sowing the seeds for what eventually becomes a massive ecosystem; was what drew me to the place.
🌿🎵🎸On my journey, I ended up revisiting my roots and finding answers to many ‘why’s I had in my head for all the ‘what’s I want to do on my musical journey. Under starlit skies and towering trees, amidst the melodies of the bird calls and the polyrhythmic rhythms of the rustling leaves, I drew inspiration and wrote music that will eventually find your way as ‘Revisiting Roots’, a musical journey that will hopefully leave you as humbled and grateful as it left me. 🌲✨
🌳🦏Jadav ‘Molai’ Payeng, after whom the forest is named, never gave up on his vision, and put in the work day-in and day-out to nurture his baby. He does so till this day, 44 years after he first planted the first seeds on a tree-less sandbar on the bank of the Brahmaputra that is now home to Bengal tigers, rhinos, elephants, deer, monkeys, wild rabbits, and many species of birds.🦌🌲
🎶 As I left Molai Forest with ‘Revisiting Roots’ penned down, I could say that I left a changed person, with strengthened belief in the sheer possibility of what the vision, passion, and relentless pursuit of a single individual can yield.🌠

An astronaut abandoned in a malfunctioned spacecraft manages to establish communication with mission control, only to receive the heartbreaking message from his comrades that there won't be a mission to retrieve him, as the odds of a successful rescue are too low.
He floats in space, waiting for the day his resources run out. As a sense of loneliness and abandonment paired with a dreadful countdown to demise overwhelm him, he decides to pull the plug on himself.
His last moments as he fades away into an endless void are surprisingly calm and liberating, as he embraces death on his own terms.
