Fiesta Corn Dip
Price Comparison
With grocery and gas prices out of control right now, I highly recommend using your favorite grocery stores’ websites to compare prices before shopping. I decided to compare Wal-Mart and Aldi prices on ingredients for the Fiesta Corn Dip recipe I shared yesterday. Here are the results:
Wal-Mart - $16.59
Aldi - $10.56
A few notes for this comparison:
1. Aldi prices are higher when you look at them in the Instacart app because they add a small premium to each item for the convenience of someone else shopping for your groceries.
2. The amount of sour cream and shredded cheese at Aldi is double the amount you need for the recipe but that is the smallest sizes I could get from them.
3. Aldi does not carry the Mexicorn so I just chose regular canned corn for this comparison. (In my opinion, you don’t need the Mexicorn because you get the red & green peppers in the Rotel.)
4. Aldi does not carry the corn chip scoops so I chose the tortilla chip scoops instead.
5. I did not include mayonnaise in this price comparison. I figured most people already have this in their fridge.
So, Aldi clearly wins this price comparison. I don’t think many people realize Aldi often beats Wal-Mart prices. The only downside is Aldi doesn’t carry as many items as the bigger grocery stores. If you have an Aldi close to you, I recommend checking it out to see if you can save some money on your grocery bill.

I started this page back in 2020 hoping to share money-saving ideas but then the pandemic happened, and life went awry. Now two years later, we are paying ridiculous prices for groceries and gas so it's a perfect time to share some tips and tricks. Feel free to share this page with your friends and family.
