We had an amazing run and though we didn’t win last night, I am hoping our message was heard by our representatives. This was an incredibly close race and that’s all thanks to those who helped me along the way and to the voters who realize that our campaign was about issues that matter greatly to all of you.

I stepped up to run for the Second Districts, House of Representatives seat to bring change, raise awareness and make a difference in our community. Throughout our campaign, our grassroots efforts allowed us the opportunity to meet some amazing community members, business owners and new neighbors that we welcome to this place we call home.

Yesterday, while standing at the polls I had the honor of shaking hands with people that I’ve never met before, giving hugs to children who said they looked up to me, and talking with community members who came to the polls specifically to meet me and vote. I am proud to say that I have brought awareness to some of our community’s most important issues and have embraced and empowered others to do the same in the process. I may not have won the election, but I have won the support of all of you, and my efforts to bring about change will not stop with this vote tally. It just means that I may take a different path to work toward change.

I congratulate Representative Allie-Brennan and I wish him the best as he continues to serve the Second District in this next term.

Thank you to everyone who came out to our GOTV rally tonight and a special thanks to our next Congressman George Logan! A lot of great energy leading up to Election Day!

Election Day is within sight and incumbent Democrat Raghib Allie-Brennan, through a long-winded FB diatribe, is displaying the hallmarks of an incumbent state representative who is out of touch with the challenges and views of his constituents. Have I missed voting in a budget referendum? Yes, I sure have. I am a strong woman who has fought cancer and won. I’m a mother to two amazing young children. I run a family-owned business, and I’ve been very active within our schools and community. I have devoted countless hours to philanthropic causes. I have lived and am living life, just like the rest of you. I am not a born and raised, career building politician. So, for Rep. Allie-Brennan to suggest that I’m not fit to serve because of an inconsistent voting record is a bit, “pot calling the kettle black” and a pathetic attempt to deflect.
Furthermore, I find it striking that such an attack can come from my opponent who was elected to vote on legislation and is paid for doing that job yet he missed so many votes. He feels so strongly about my not voting yet he is paid to vote and doesn’t show up. Did he not believe the people of this district were concerned about emergency orders put in place by Governor Lamont? Or that Catalytic Convertor thefts do not happen here? The act regarding affordability for renters, why did he not care enough about this act to show up and vote? I have included a partial list of votes he has missed. Clearly it was not a once or twice thing, he missed many votes. If he doesn’t show up and vote, how does he represent the people of the 2nd district? To make matters worse he made sure not to miss the vote for his $12,000 pay increase. Representative Allie-Brennan has failed the second district. Connecticut is far less affordable than when he took office. Crime is on the rise; police moral and the number of offices is steadily decreasing. It’s time for a change.

The old adage if you do the crime, you do the time is no longer true in Connecticut. Many offenders know their crimes will not be punished and police have had their ability to protect and serve diminished. Vote for me on November 8th and I’ll fight to see that this changes. https://www.jennlewisforstaterep.com/

Honored to have been invited to sign the CT Zoning Pledge with CT 169 Strong. Zoning decisions should be made by neighbors, not bureaucrats. Housing developers in recent years have pushed to circumvent local zoning rules to allow for more high-density housing development and I am committed to keeping zoning control local.

It is an incredible honor to have endorsements from both the Connecticut State Police Union and the Connecticut State Fraternal Order of Police. As your next State Representative, I will support our law enforcement and fight to provide them with the proper tools needed to keep them and our communities safe.

Had a great time attending the Community Shellfish Connecticut ribbon cutting. They are open Saturdays 10am to 6 pm with lobster and shellfish fresh from their docks in Bremen, Maine. They also supply other restaurants in our community with their shellfish so you’re bound to taste their seafood soon. Welcome to Bethel!

My prayers are with the families and loved ones of all three Bristol Police Officers. Connecticut Police Officers put their lives on the line every day to protect us. This terrible event is a reminder that they risk their lives for ours, day in and day out. The importance of respecting, supporting and protecting our men and women in law enforcement must be a priority.
