An eventful evening once again for Round 4 of the TCR Series at Oulton Park. I managed to Qualify P10 and finish Race 1 in P9. Race 2 I was running in P8 until I got tagged back to 16th, eventually finishing 13th. Race 3 I finished 12th.

A tough evening but running top 10 until I got tagged is a positive to take from it having been promoted to the Precision Class.

Round 5 next week from Charlotte Roval.

Hey folks, hows it going? I've returned! 😁

25/05/2020

Hey folks, so it is just under a month to LeMans 24, which will also double up as my final race for the foreseeable future. I've had some fantastic races, and made some awesome friends along the way. I'm sticking to my guns and going to give LeMans 24 the best shot at racing it completely solo for the entire 24hrs as seems a fitting challenge and task to bow out on! I'll stream it of course, so would be awesome if people check in from time to time 🤘

Thanks again everyone for the laughs and support, and look forward to picking up where we left off when I return 😎

Happy racing!

I've really enjoyed racing here in IMSA before so I was really looking forward to this week, however it soon became apparent that I was off the pace from the quick guys around here so required plenty of practice.

I really struggled to hook the car up in Qualifying which really doesn't help so every race was eventful. I tried my best to race smart and pick my battles wisely to give me the best chances of making up some places. Racing has been super close and tense so I am extremely pleased to have come away with a 3rd and 4th position in what was going to be my damage limitation week.

Now my focus turns to Donnington Park ahead of next weeks races. I really enjoy visiting this track so I'm hoping it an bring me some good results in the virtual world!

Awesome to literally 'bump' into old team mate Fraser Smith from Full Send Racing in the pre-race practice lobby, the perfect warm up to go on and get a P3!

VLN P5.

I was really pleased with my Qualifying putting me P2 on the grid. I dropped to P3 on the green however I decided this wasn't such a bad thing as I tucked in and saved fuel. The top 3 were within a second of each other pretty much for the whole first stint. This was fantastic and gave me such good practice in following close and keeping the draft. My fuel saving paid off as I squeezed an extra lap compared to my opponents and put me in P2 after the first stop. Just over 2 hours in, I unfortunately put a wheel on the grass under braking as traffic squeezed through which put me down into P8.

Down and not out I changed my strategy to suit and knew if I played it right then after the next stop it would be quite close, so I got my head down settled in and got into a rhythm.

After my second stop, P5 drove passed me as I was exiting the pits so I knew a fight was on. 3 laps later I managed to jump P5 with 10 minutes to go, in which I finished with the last lap being my fastest of the race.

Overall an extremely positive result. I had never driven this track until Monday so it has been a hard week learning the track, let alone racing solo around it for 4 hours. Without the mistake, I'm almost certain a P2, even possibly a win was on the cards so I can't be anything other than positive with todays result.

Big thanks to Team MAD, and can't wait to get back out there and go again!

Quarantine 2020. 4th Place

Photos from KingSim Racing's post 19/04/2020

Yesterday I took my biggest challenge to date. I competed in Absolute Dan's 'Quarantine 2020' Community Race at Silverstone.

A 12 hour race with Supercars and GT4s sharing the same track. I decided to compete in the race in the GT4 Class on my own solo.

I qualified P6 and settled in to the race, trying my best to stay in draft and save some fuel. This worked as I managed to lengthen my first stint by 1 lap compared to my opponents which meant after my first pitstop I then exited the pits in P4.

I managed to stay out of trouble and keep on to P4 for the 320 lap race, and only picked up 25 incident points in the 12 hours.

Super super pleased to have done my first 12hr solo endurance event. Shame I couldn't get a podium but being the only solo GT4 it was always going to be a tough ask. Super thanks for Team MAD for the super fresh car.

On to the next one!

Tomorrow I get to race this beauty around Silverstone for the 'Quarantine 2020'. A 12 hour race that I'll be doing solo! This wont be about hot lapping, but playing the long game, playing safe and being consistent over the 12 hours.

The entire race will be Broadcasted by Simpky Race, which you can find here:

Good news! Today I took part in The Sampsoid Community Race, with other 30 GT3's and a 40 minute race around Brands Hatch Grand Prix Circuit. I qualified in P3 and managed to secure my first win with Team MADWith reduced fuel strategy was always going to be important, and I crossed the line with 0.1Gal left! Happy the gamble paid off, and my first win under Team MAD. You can watch my stream here:

And that's a wrap! Week 4 of the IMSA Pilot Series for me has now finished. Weve had some good luck, and some bad luck this week but its been good fun non the less.

Currently sitting P5 out of 780 drivers:

12 Starts
1 Pole Position
2 Wins
6 Top 5's.

All in all I cant complain. Next week we head over to Snetterton to do it all over again!

iRacing - IMSA Pilot Series - Stop Making Silly Mistakes! Road America - Porsche Cayman GT4 03/04/2020

Qualified 5th, so had some work to do. Managed to make a clean move into T1 after getting a good run at the lights for P4. Tried to settle in but kept making some silly mistakes, allowing P1,2 & 3 to make a gap. I had Erik less than a second behind me the entire race, so I was busy watching my mirrors rather than trying to chase the pack down.

Lucas Adam had contact which gave me P3, which I managed to hold on to until the finish. A solid podium, giving me 96 Championship points for my Division.

1 more attempt left this week, then its farewell Road America and off to Snetterton we go! 🔥

I've entered my KingSim Racing Porsche Cayman GT4 into this to race 12 hours Solo around Silverstone on April 18th.

I've decided to race this 12 hours solo, as a practice session almost and experience working towards my LeMans 24 Hour Solo attempt in June.

It's a mixed class field with Supercars and GT4s sharing the same tarmac, so it's going to be interesting no doubt!

Less than 1 month later I am so happy to say I have doubled that and hit 200 Subscribers! A huge day for me! Just want to say thank you to everybody who has watched, commented and support along the way - you guys rock!!

Now to keep pushing! Thanks as always, and see you on track soon! 😁

Dang! Managed a good Quali run to put me 3rd on the grid. Managed to get away clean until Turn 3 where I fell victim to
some trouble behind. This put me back down into P19 and I lost my rear wing in the process.

I managed to fight on and eventually claw my way back up to bring the car home in P5.

Considering the first lap incident and being last, I'm pleased to have only lost 2 positions overall. This left me with +iR so all in all, not ideal but it was a success.

Keep pushing!
