The end of every state trip is bittersweet, happy to be here but sad to see the season come to a close. Nathan Somers went 2/2 getting on the podium placing 5th in the long jump, not bad for his first season! Freshman Alaya Nash (long jump) and junior Luke Siler (100,400) missed finals but have already talked about their return! Thank you Bantam Nation for your support throughout the season, we will continue to grow from our successes. Go Bantams!
WE’VE GOT A STATE CHAMP! Congrats to Nathan Somers winning the 2A State triple jump championship. Sophomore Jordan Cassetto followed it up getting on the podium in the high jump placing 6th. It’s tough to get to state, leaving with a medal is incredible and we are so happy for both of them. Back for day two tomorrow, Go Bantams!
District Championships 2024! We are all so proud of this group, they had to hit competitive standards to get to this meet. A lot of great performances and 4 STATE qualifiers! Congrats to Alaya (long jump), Jordan (high jump), Luke (100,400) and Nate (long jump, triple jump) punching your ticket to Tacoma!
To take our team to the next level we felt we needed to see the best competition. The Pasco Invitational is one of the biggest meets in the state and athletes must qualify to compete in it, the last time we attended we brought 4 student athletes to the meet and this year we had 14! None of them were intimidated and as a coaching staff we are excited to see this track and field culture continue to grow!
(Apologies for the lack of pictures, coaches were busy coaching and cheering and celebrating personal records)
Track and Field is off to a hot start! We wasted no time building from our past season of success and after only two meets have qualified 14 athletes for the District Championship meet and set multiple personal records. Hard work is no longer asked, it’s the norm, and all of our kids have shown that from the start of the season. Big things to come, Go Bantams!
In his first and only high school track season Christian Howell finishes 6th in the state in both the 100 and 200! Whitworth is getting an incredible student athlete, we will be rooting for him when he competes at the next level. Go Bantams!
State update: Christian Howell moves on to the state finals in the 100 and 200 tomorrow!
Our boys 4x100 will not advance after a dropped baton. We are proud of them and their record breaking year!
State off to a great start, Sage Lone Bear on the podium with a 5th place finish in the discus! Time to rest up and run fast tomorrow. Go Bantams!
WE’RE GOING TO STATE!! Chris Howell qualified in the 100 (3rd) and 200 (2nd), Sage LoneBear qualified with a PR throw of 150’ 4” in the discus placing 2nd, and our boys 4x100 broke their own school record and ran the state auto qualifying time. Our girls 4x200 ran 3 seconds faster than their previous season best but unfortunately won’t be moving on.
This has been a special group and we are thankful to have the opportunity to coach them. Biggest group we’ve taken to state in the past 5 years. Go Bantams!
Team dinner with the Regional Championship crew. Everyone is ready to compete tomorrow, let’s get to STATE!

It has been a great season for Clarkston Bantam Track & Field. We saw the second season in a row where EVERY athlete set a new personal record and that is a testament to the hard work our student athletes put in. Tomorrow we head up to our District Championship meet and DOUBLED the amount of athletes who qualified to compete from last season. Our kids are determined and ready to put on great performances, Go Bantams!
