If you’ve followed my work or read my book, you’ll know that food is the foundation of healthy teeth. When I see dental disease in kid’s mouths, my first thoughts go to food.

But while parents may be aware of this, how on earth do they apply this in the real world?

I see many parents who confess the struggle they have feeding their children. There’s an air of guilt in the air, but there really shouldn’t be.

Firstly, feeding kids today is incredibly difficult, so more importantly, how do we give strategies to help parent’s out?

The thing I’ve learnt about raising kids, is you have to stick to your principles. Know and understand that every meal is speaking to a child’s body right to its deepest and most fundamental aspect which is their genes.

If we consider every meal an opportunity to fuel our child’s genes, then it narrows down the type of foods that are important to allow your child to be healthy.

So, your strategy is to get your children to eat as much nutrient dense (animal based) foods, as possible. For me, I don’t feed grains, cereal, fruit, or any packaged foods to the kids, because they take an opportunity away for my kids to eat something that will truly nourish them.

Then as we hit the battlefield-

Tactical high grounds: make it enjoyable, involve your child in meal-time preparation so that they feel connected to the food that is on their plate.

Hunger Games: You need to use hunger to your advantage. Day time snacking in my books is a big barrier to a successful mealtime because kids won’t be interested. Cut all snacks to an absolute minimum.

Watch out for spies: anything packaged or marketed to kids should really be thrown away. It’s not food, it’s refined carbohydrates, sugars, and vegetable oils that trick a child into thinking it’s actually food.

You are the general: that means that what you say goes. Children will be highly insistent when it comes to things they desire, if it’s not something they should eat, say no, and stick to it. Your morning/afternoon will be ruined, but the next time, they won’t spend so much energy insisting and you’ll be closer to winning the next battle.

I actually don’t hate this holiday 👻 but yes, I do hate all the ridiculous candy 🍭 🍬🍫 that goes along with it...

It’s totally unnecessary 🙅🏻‍♀️🙅🏻🙅🏼‍♂️

But fear not!! There are better alternatives ✅

You can let your kid trick or treat, have fun and then, let them trade you all of their “science experiments” (that’s what we call candy 🍭 🤣 bc theyre just to play with 🍬) for a healthier alternative ✅✅

If you’re ever in Gilbert, AZ, you have to check out Karma Apple Juicery.

Many today have allergic reactions to eggs, while many others are so, they’re automatically excluded from so many yummy baked recipes.

For my family, I prefer not to bake with eggs because I don’t believe it’s the best way to consume .

But I rarely eat raw fish anymore. Farmed fish is bad news BUT this post is actually about the soy sauce and why we want to avoid Soy Sauce - even organic!

They say organic inherently means non-GMO, but the chance of finding non-GMO soy is little to none. Plus the phytoestrogens in soy and did you know soy sauce contains gluten??

Who here knows what G H E E is?

I’m working with a client on her journey 👶🏼 and when I mentioned she had no idea what I was talking about 🤷🏻‍♀️ so it occurred to me, maybe it’s not that common of a food 🤔?

It really should be.

I use ghee almost daily in cooking, I’m sorry if I’m offending any but the high smoke point, nutrient density and flavor profile of GHEE make it a favorite of mine when cooking or roasting veggies.

🧈 Essentially, ghee is clarified 🧈 a healthy FAT 🧈 made by simmering butter bringing out its nutty flavor, skimming off any impurities plus removing the milk solids, thereby removing the and 🙅🏻‍♀️ (many people sensitive to dairy 🥛 actually have no problem with GHEE bc of this).

🧈 It’s full of fat-soluble vitamins like and all challenging to find in an all 🌱

🧈 GHEE is also full of CONJUGATED LINOLEIC ACID / CLA : a fatty acid helpful in reducing body-fat lowering inflammation, preventing cancer and even lowering blood-pressure.

🧈 Full of butyrate (butyric acid), ghee is great for especially for those suffering from and ulcerative colitis - it promotes a or healthy 🦠.
