I've been thinking. (Yes, you should be afraid.)

For many years now, I've posted an excerpt around mid-December from the soon-to-be-released book. This year, the book will be a story collection, so I'm thinking of putting up the opening scene of two stories. One will be the Meg & Simon story (no, you can't have the whole story as the excerpt), and the other will be... I haven't decided yet.

As of this morning, I've already received over 100 requests for a free book. I'll collect any requests sent today until 3:30PM ET in case I have more books than I anticipated, but more likely, I won't be able to send anything to folks making a request today.

AN ANNOUNCEMENT FOR US READERS. (Sorry, but my postage budget just can't handle international rates.)

It's once again time to cull the herd. In other words, I have to reduce the number of extra copies of my books that are boxed up and need a home.

The last time I did this, the offer went to Little Libraries. Some readers mentioned that there were other places that have book carts for patients or residents that would also be happy to have a book. So this one is for you. If you know a place that would like a free copy of a book and are willing to take responsibility for delivering the book to that place, send me your name and mailing address at:

I don't know how many books I have to give away. I think most will be from the Others series and most will be paperbacks.
