This was a great experience! The park was the perfect setting for our invigorating, yet relaxing yoga class. This was back in September, the week of my birthday actually!⁠⠀

I love teaching yoga almost as much as I love practicing it. Helping people flow through the poses and become more familiar with their bodies and their abilities is amazing. I'm missing in-person classes, but it's making me even more excited about these virtual classes starting next month! Will you be joining me?⠀

While working with my clients, one of the biggest areas of concern is always exercising. Many want to get active but aren’t sure exactly where or how to start.⠀

Are you getting enough water?⁠⠀

It's easier to drink more water in the summer, but water intake starts to taper off in the winter. With the colder weather, there comes the chance of dehydration. ⁠⠀

Increase your water intake by:⁠⠀
- Drinking more water⁠⠀
- Eating more fruit and vegetables⁠⠀
- Adding fruit to water (if the taste is a factor for you)⁠⠀
- Drinking tea (Opt for Hibiscus or Chamomile tea)⁠⠀
- Start with seltzer/sparkling water then convert to still⁠⠀

Stress is a part of life. Small stressors teach us how to adapt and survive. Chronic stress is where the issues start to come in.⁠⠀

The modern-day hustle culture leaves us all more open to chronically high-stress levels. Add in a global pandemic, a racist system, financial worries, and just about everything else wrong in 2020, stress management is essential now more than ever. ⁠⠀

Wellness Wednesday

Most of us don’t realize how much sugar is hidden in some of our favorite drinks.

Here’s how many teaspoons of sugar are in:

1 can of ginger ale - 8 teaspoons
A bottle of Gatorade - 14 teaspoons
A Snapple tea - 9 teaspoons
1 bottle of coke - 16 teaspoons
1 can of Arizona Tea - 6 teaspoons

This excess sugar in the body has a number of consequences on our system, in addition to packing on extra calories.

Opting for good ol H2O is always the best way to stay hydrated!

Monday Meditation

Singing bowls are bells that can be used with your meditation practice. The vibrations from the sound given off by the bowl can lead to deep relaxation.

Singing bowls can be tuned to align with the chakras (or energy centers) in the body. All in all, they definitely add to any meditation or yoga practice.

Take a moment to enjoy the sounds of my singing bowl to add some peace to your day.
