So many people ask.... What can I do to make my Botox treatment more effective ?
So, Here it is a short guide of the do’s and don’ts after having Botox.
The do’s
1. Frown repeatedly for about one hour immediately following the treatment, increasing the uptake by the targeted muscle groups and making the botox work more effectively
2.. Rest in an upright position.....No naps laying down.... Try to keep upright for the first 4 hours after your treatment.
4. Be Mindful!!! It is ok to gently apply light make-up after your treatment but use a light dabbing motion instead of employing a rubbing motion
The don’ts
1. Do not rub or massage the treated area and try to keep the area clean, avoiding the application of a foundation make-up if possible.
2. Try to avoid sleeping on your face the first night
3. Avoid excessive sweating, Do not exercise or partake in any strenuous activity for the next 12 hrs
4. Avoid excessive alcohol consumption for the next 24hrs
5. Do not have any beauty treatments on your face e.g. facials, facial massage for 2 weeks- this may cause the injected solution to spread to nearby muscles.
6. Avoid exposure to strong sunlight, very cold temperatures and saunas for the next 2 weeks
7. After exercising your muscles during the first hour after treatment, time try to avoid extreme facial expressions for the next 12 hours
8. Avoid the sun
9. Don’t scrub too much. Following your Botox injections, it’s important to give your skin time to heal. Don’t apply any heavy scrubs or facial masks that could prevent the treatment from doing its work.
Side effects of Botox and antiwrinkle injections are rare.
