Creating an egalitarian work culture grounded in self-determination and empathetic connection. This is your company. You lead, you help, we help.
We're engineering a system in which every employee is both executive and co-creator. At my last company, no one was working on what they wanted to. People had amazing side projects with a lot of potential, but they spend most of their days working on what the management wanted. And in a 7,000 person company, it's really hard to change what the management wants. Everyone's attention was divided bet
ween their true passions and their jobs. It's like that everywhere. Money is the management in a 7.5 billion person company. Because companies have to compete against each other, people in different companies keep solving the same problems, again and again. In every company there are people doing something they don't like, and the worst part is, it's redundant, something someone already solved somewhere else. I wanted to create a completely open source company, one where everyone is working towards according to their highest passion. That sounds like one of those things that's too good to be true, but we're actually engineering a system that lets us do that. Everyone gets their own page expressing their own vision of the company. This can be a fashion company, an educational platform, a computer manufacturer. We automatically prioritize the tasks that do the most to help the most people's projects and distribute them according to people's talents. You can change everything about it, starting with the name. People will still help you wherever you share common goals.
