C SAFE C SAFE is a specially designed medical device for safer cesarean sections.

By design, the C SAFE device cannot nick or lacerate an infant during childbirth via c-section. The C SAFE device also guards against accidental cuts to healthcare workers and the physician as well. There are currently far too many accidental lacerations to newborns, to the tune of 45,000+ annually in the United States.
