Once you recognize your beliefs as simply beliefs, you move from confusion ๐คจ to clarity ๐ค. We each carry so many of these imprints that we can consciously work on to dissolve and evolve ๐.
That's how we grow as a society. ๐ฉ๐ฝโ๐คโ๐ฉ๐พ๐จ๐ปโ๐คโ๐จ๐ผ
We owe it to ourselves and each other. ๐
Most of us carry cultural impressions that we don't give much thought to, but when you come across something that makes you feel reactive/defensive, don't just ignore it; bring that idea inward ๐ and explore it; turn it outward and research it from a place of curiosityโnot egoโand follow where facts, fairness, justice โ๏ธ and truth lead.
Expanding ๐ซ our own consciousness and allowing for personal evolution is how we grow. Itโs how we change the world. ๐

Ask yourself today:
๐นWhat beliefs do I hold? How are they serving me and the world? ๐
๐นHow did I come to hold these beliefs? Did I consciously form them myself or were they handed down to me by tradition, society, culture, family? ๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ
๐นAre any of the beliefs I hold causing division in society? Do they create an Us vs. Them mentality? โ
๐นHave I been conditioned through fear-based tactics to hold any of the beliefs I have? Am I free to question them? To reject them? ๐ค
๐นHow can I adjust my beliefs to better align with reality and to support the world at large? ๐
Nervous system regulation is tricky because precisely when we need it the most, our bodies are being flooded with the hormones that move us into fight ๐คบ-or-flight ๐๐ฝmode.
We are literally pulsing with the energy necessary to run away from, or fight, a threat.
Itโs difficult to focus ๐ซฃ in the moment when weโre poised to *act*. It's not just a mental thing, it's physiological. If we donโt use that energy, we feel jittery, on edge, anxious.
The key ๐ is mindfulness.
Pay attention.
Are you *actually* in real danger?
Most of the time weโre not. Weโve merely worked ourselves up into a state of stress over a perceived threat:
โa deadline ๐
โa traffic jam ๐๐๐
โan argument ๐
โa delayed flight โ๏ธ, etc.
Our lives arenโt actually threatened by these events but our reptilian๐ฆ brain ๐ง doesnโt know that. It canโt discern between an actual threat and a perceived threat. To keep you safe it responds the same.
Thatโs where our cognitive ๐ง brain has to take over. Know that youโre safe and remind your nervous system of that by giving it the gift ๐ of regulation.
You donโt always have to immediately relax, either. Itโs perfectly ok to burn off that energy by exercising ๐๐ปโโ๏ธor yelling ๐ค first. But then remind yourself that youโre safe and guide your body gently into that safety. ๐
