I would like to thank everyone for their support. Though I didn’t make it in this time this isn’t the end. I will be running again next year and hope to have your continued support. Please continue to share your thoughts and concerns so I know where the community stands.

After tomorrows forum. If there are things I feel I wanted to expand on things I though should have been covered and wasn’t I will get a video up early next week so you can learn more about me and my campaign. I hope to see you at the Pachyderm tomorrow at noon at the best western.

Tomorrow all the candidates will be attending the school board forum at the Pachyderm meeting. Noon at the Best Western. I hope to see you there! Come hear what we all have to offer if we win a seat on the board.

Hello everyone! I hope you’re all enjoying this amazing weather. Next Friday there will be another forum for the candidates at the pachyderm meeting. I’m looking forward to that! We are just over a month away from Election Day! What do you want to know about me and my stance before going in to vote?

If you’re unable to attend the forum but would like to watch it will be streaming on the Sedalia 200 YouTube page.

Tonight is the school board forum in the Heckart building at the high school. 4:30 - I hope to see you there. Also keep an eye out for our answers to some of the questions the Sedalia Democrat sent us - they will be printed in the paper soon.

I am examining ways to help make our schools safer. Some ideas I have as a nurse is ensuring classrooms have mini “trauma” kits. Currently the schools have some strategically placed in the event of a natural disaster etc but I think it would be helpful for one to be in each class. If the kids have to endure active shooter drills because we “can’t stop” these events then the teachers and students need to have resources at their fingertips to help if God forbid the worst were to happen. And they need training on how to use the items in the kits. My kids will each have a kit of their own and be trained in how to use each item contained.

I’ve also been informed by some students when asked what we could do to help with bullying that some of the teachers just ignore it even when it’s brought to their attention. This needs to stop! It’s one thing if students are being cornered in a blind spot and no one is aware but when kids are being bullied with 4 on 1 in PE etc in front of teachers this is unacceptable.

Parents - can you help me out? Talk to your kids and see what they think could help. Do they avoid certain areas out of fear? Do they dread certain classes?

I believe wholeheartedly that all of us want what is best for our children, with that being said it is important to remember that our beliefs over the pandemic and how it should be handled do not change that.  While I do support masks at this difficult time, there is far more to my campaign and my goals for our schools. Safety is more than a mask and we should all try to look at the big picture when voting rather than single issues.

Courts can go virtual but we are packing children into schools, most with masks optional, many with combined classes due to staff shortages?!?! Why are our children and teachers being sacrificed?!?!?

KC Municipal Court going virtual until Jan. 26 due to rising COVID cases Kansas City Municipal Court will be "pivoting to virtual operations" until Jan. 26 due to "a rising number of COVID-19 cases."

And over 40,000 new cases in MO TODAY!

Please mask, social distance, and vaccinate/booster!

Long covid affects children also. Many are being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes after recovery from covid. (One of many potential long covid complications). For those who do not know type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease. It is a life long illness. Developing diabetes as an adult is bad enough. But as a child you have potentially many more years for elevated glucose levels to wreak havoc on the body causing many other health issue in early adulthood. 

These are scary times, but we do know how to stop the spread. We just need everyone to work together to do it!
