Sewing My Way Through Life
Small business | Based in Salisbury | Just starting out | Handmade Baby and Children’s clothing | Other Creations too | Learning as I go along
Quilt complete for baby 👶🏻 ✅ It has been a slow sew but happy with the colours and patterns. Now on to the next project!
Finally found my .illustrates transfers today! 😍 I had some how lost them and found them today in the most random of places. So have popped them on to some cute little rompers and the start of some dribble bibs. Excuse the rubbish lighting makes the colours of the fabric look very different and I ran out of poppers for one of the rompers. I have to say I will definitely be ordering some more of these transfers they were so easy to use and just look adorable!!! 💖
When you’ve had a busy week at work and just want to hide in the flat! 🥱 💤 What better way to chill than to get the sewing patterns out!!! 🪡 🧵
Set myself a little project today to make some bunting for work. 🦊 Another make to tick off my list ☑️ as this was the first time I’ve ever made bunting!!! I had to create my own bias binding too! 🤣
Have had no energy this weekend as the children at work have clearly shared their germs with me!! 🙄🤧So taking it easy and starting some simple projects to get back in to sewing again!
When you nearly loose the game!!!! 🧵 🪡 😰 !!!
Forgot to post a picture of the little dress I made! 👗 Here’s to another new project I’ve completed ✅ Sewing has kind of taken a bit of a back seat this year as I have been busy wedding planning but loving doing a bit every now and again as a bit of a unwind/chill out.
When you duck up good and proper!!! 🤦🏼♀️ I’ll see you in ten years time whilst I just unpick the whole skirt 😩 I was so proud of myself too as it’s the first time I’ve ever done gathering.
In full sewing mode on this sunny Easter weekend! 🌷 🐣
Decided to spend Good Friday sewing! 🧵 🪡 Needed a chill out and recharge so what better way to do that, than to spend my whole day starting a new project! Making myself a summer vest top. I might just have it finished in time for Me Made May who knows 🤷🏼♀️
Spring flowers 🌷💖
😍😍😍 In proper sewing mode this weekend!!! Sorry I’ve been so quiet I’ve had like a whole months (if not longer) break from sewing as life just got sooo busy I could barely get a free weekend! Not complaining as it makes a change from being in lockdown and it was so nice to spend quality time with family and friends again.
Little bit in love with this fabric 😍
Having a bit of a sewing block after trying to start something new last week and it not going quite right. I just haven’t managed to get back in to the swing of things again! So spent my day off in the garden today………Does anybody else ever get a sewing block after things not going to plan?
I had a lovely long bank holiday weekend spent with what I call my northern family (my other half’s family). So nice to be able to have a bit of normality back in our life’s! Anyway yesterday I got a chance to proper geek out at Quarry Bank Mill in Wilmslow learning all about the process of cotton and the different machinery.....oh and I may have purchased some more fabric 🙊 ☀️
Here are a few more photos of my latest creations! I have to say I think the dinos and the monster print are definitely my favourites 🙂
Sorry I've been a bit quiet lately I've just been non-stop super busy!!!
Happy Sunday everyone!!! ☀️
After going for a very long walk with friends yesterday. I have decided to have a chilled Sunday sewing up some more rompers!!
Loving my sewing journey and the things that I’m learning as I go along or the new gadgets I’m buying to make things easier. Who knew years ago when I had a go on my Granny’s Singer sewing machine that I’d fall in love with sewing this much. I also can’t believe I managed to make a quilt using that old sewing machine having to wind the handle with one hand and guide the fabric through with the other hand.
Anyway here are some more dribble bibs I made recently 💖 🪡 🧵
Thanks 😊 Loving my new stickers!! 😍
How cute are these dribble bibs!!! 👶🏻 🍼
Made from a cotton jersey top layer and a lovely soft bamboo velvet back layer.
Another Romper finished and ready to go on its journey to a sweet little girl! Life certainly has been chaotic as of late but I’m hoping that I’ll be able to get a Etsy shop set up soon to put some of my makes on there!!! Watch this space...........
