This New Years Eve I am sitting here finalizing the touches on my "author's note" and "dedication" for my soon-to-be-released book - The Context Eating Method For Women - How to Lose Weight Without Sucking all the Gluten, Chocolate and Wine-Filled joy from your life. This book has been a LONG time coming and is based on over 12 years of observations of what works and what doesn't when it comes to stopping the yo-yo dieting cycle and the all-or-nothing weight loss approaches. If the idea of "New Year, New You" rings hollow and empty just hold on another 3 weeks or so and I'll have a special opportunity for my friends and followers to pick up a pre-launch copy to give me initial feedback and reviews. Negative thoughts are different from disempowering thoughts…
Negative thoughts are simply garbage for your mind…most people can recognize them for what they are
However...disempowering thoughts are sneaky thoughts that masquerade as “good advice to keep you safe.”
Disempowering thoughts look like they have your best interest at heart...but the reality is...they are the one thing that will keep you from living the life you dream of…
Disempowering thoughts say…😶
“But what if you fail?”
“What if you waste your money?”
“What if they laugh?”
“You’ve tried 10 things already and nothing has worked so far…”
The best answer I have for when these sneaky thoughts come into my head is “So what?!!!”

When it comes to uncontrollable food cravings one of the best supplements to start adding to your regime is an extra dose or two of omega 3s.
Yep…all those weight loss products that you have heard of to help stop cravings don’t do as well as the simple addition of more omega 3 fats to your diet.
Often when you are having cravings your body is craving healthy fats which are used in every cell of your body and are an important part of your mental, cardiac and hormonal health.
But…if you don’t give your body enough good fats it will take whatever it can get
(Like.... the hamburger, chips and ice cream)

Why People Still Yo-Yo Diet ?????? 🤔
When things are not working out the way we want them to, it can be so easy to start assigning blame…
On the situation..
On another person...
On yourself…
But when you get into the blame game you are not doing anything to help fix the problem because that gets you stuck in a negative cycle of inaction...
There are reasons why you overeat or engage in all or nothing approaches to your diet and many of them are rooted in deeper issues that will take some time to fully address and resolve.

Not gonna lie...2021 had some challenges…
After 2020 I had a lot of hope that 2021 would be different...but…
It was tough dealing with kids homeschooling, ongoing lockdowns, a drop in foot traffic in my store, lack of support and the division that I saw going on everywhere.
I had to make some adjustments to my expectations which made me feel quite stressed at times
My younger brother got married, my family came to celebrate this joy. I got to see my parents after 3 years, I got to see my sister and her kids after 8 years and we were able to be together under one roof after 16 years... long freakin time.
But through all the struggles and setbacks I realized
My Family is Everything.....🥰
And that one realization helped me reset and prioritize the most important things.
Now I am ready and looking forward, with expectation, to what is coming towards me and the impact that I am determined to make this year… it recharged and reset me. It was so needed!

If you try and do too much it can be overwhelming…(not to mention unsustainable)

The Power of Affirmations🙏
Affirmations are powerful words or phrases that you can say out loud to yourself to help you achieve your goals.
Choose affirmations that feel good when you say them vs. choosing things that make you feel like you are trying to convince yourself of something that isn’t true...
For instance if saying, “I am in perfect health” only reminds you how far away from your goal you are...this is not a good affirmation for you!
Try something like this instead, “Every day I am improving my health and wellbeing”
If you are new to saying affirmations, commit to saying one affirmation a day for the next week, a minimum of five times per day.

Are Your Thoughts Keeping You Stuck? 😬
If there is one thing I know for sure it's that thoughts are powerful things!
When I was living my life on the struggle-bus I found it difficult to think that anything positive could come out of what I was experiencing…
I felt like a complete failure and totally out of control when it came to my food cravings...
I couldn’t get out of that mindset...
(And to be clear...I’m not into “toxic positivity”...negative thoughts are important sign posts into what is going on in our lives)
That being said...there is a difference between feeling down and feeding the negativity-monster.
Some thoughts are just not helpful...under any circumstances... and need to be called out for the harm they can do.
Any thought that undermines your value, self-worth or what you are capable of doing/being needs to be called out for the sh*t that it is…
Here is a good guideline...If you wouldn’t say it to your best friend...it doesn’t belong in your thoughts.🧐
Type “yes” in the comments if you think some of your thought patterns are keeping you from being your best 🙋♀️
🤔Are You Trying To Patch Your Weight Issues Instead of Fixing Them?
When life gets busy, we often resort to patching our problems instead of fixing them... 🤚
When we have no energy we drink more coffee... 🤚
When we can’t sleep we take a sleeping pill🤚
While this gives us temporary relief..it does nothing to actually fix the issue. ✅
When it comes to issues with weight gain and body composition, patching the problem will get you nowhere, and may even make the problem worse! ✅
It is so important to spend your resources on things that will get to the root cause of your weight gain vs. continuing to spend your time,money and energy focused on temporary results. 😇
