The reality is that just like many of you, the past couple of weeks have been soo busy!! Maybe someday I’ll plan out the holidays better! For now, I’m happy to provide some last minute shopping! Happy Monday, friends! Mondays are sometimes hard: getting back in the weekly routine, moving from one thing to the next, and just getting stuff done. Today I chose to try to combat my Monday blues by getting dressed, doing my makeup, and putting on some jewelry! I can’t say it was the magic potion that put everyone in a good mood, but I DON’T feel the typical Monday blues today! Wahooo!! (**I’m wearing the Everley Hoops today! Shop link in profile**) What do you like to do to combat the moody Monday feels?? . .

I have loved collecting rocks, stones, and minerals since I was pretty young. I had a fantastic collection, and my prized possessions were a tiger’s eye ring and a piece of pyrite. These days, I collect treasures in a different way (jewelry making.. in case it wasn’t obvious!), and I’m incredibly drawn to quartz. The Phoebe Earrings highlight quartz in a simple way. Growth, maturity, change. We all do so at different rates. Different circumstances launch varying amounts of change... and sometimes one of us “handles” a similar situation in a very different way. These moments of growth, maturity, and change can cause contention, comparison, and judgement to flourish. Sometimes (MANY TIMES), that contention, comparison, and judgement happens within ourselves ABOUT ourselves. As adults, we learn to hide the insecurities about our varying degrees of maturity or growth very, very well. When I’m in a valley of sadness, loneliness, or pain, I’m extremely good at hiding. Because. I don’t like admitting that I’m disappointed in my specific degree of growth! For a long time, I didn’t know that’s what I was doing. Well, here I am today: no makeup (big ol’ zits and all!), messy hair, sweats, slippers, the works. I’m not necessarily struggling through a massive issue, nor am I digging for any sympathy! I am sharing the real, Monday-blues, makeup-free me to show the truth behind the IG account! I’m wishing I was further along in my sanctification... but I’m thankful for the recognition of the need to lean in heavily on a Father that offers change, growth, and maturity... Today, I’m operating on a lot of grace from a good Father. I’m working through finding peace and joy in the place in which God has placed me. I’m thankful for perseverance to parent until bedtime. And I’m grateful for new mercies every morning. Here’s to Monday. Here’s to growth. Here’s to maturity. Here’s to change.

It’s been awhile y’all. In between kids, homeschool, soccer, trips, activities, family time, and more, it’s been a STRUGGLE to make time for this space!! My grandfather passed away two years ago (a couple of days ago). My Gramps was one of my favorite people in the world, and I take so much pride in being named after him. While my sisters, cousins and I helped my Grams and our parents prepare for his memorial service, my sister found some sermon notes in his Bible. “Do not be afraid” was written among the many notes from that weeks’ sermon. While my Gramps would maybe think it funny that my sisters and I tattooed his handwriting on our arms, it felt so right to permanently have a reminder of not only my grandfather but of the words my Heavenly Father spoke in His word. My grandfather wrote those words down for a reason. This world is broken, cruel, and frightening at times. Without the reminder of the promises from a faithful, loving, caring Father, we are quickly bruised and beaten down. God says, “Do not be afraid...” not because He promises that everything will go right for us if we trust Him. He says it because we have a Hope that’s bigger, brighter, and better than the things of this world. Do not be afraid of the hurt, the pain, the sadness... look to the One who came to save us. He is seated at the right hand of God, and he’s coming again to restore the world. Do not be afraid, Jessie.

Life is so crazy, so busy, so hard. I forget so quickly all that my Redeemer has done and promises to do. So if I have to tattoo His promises onto my arm to remember them, I’ll do it!
Thank you, Gramps, for faithfully serving the Lord. Missing you so much. Thank you, Lord, for promising eternity with you and those you have called before us.

Did you know anklets are IN?! Again?! I remember wearing anklets (and toe rings... I’m pretty sure I had a MOOD toe ring... ANYWHO...) quite a bit in middle school.
