Chelsea starts the 2023/24 EPL season with a home fixture against Liverpool.

I love it!

We have a very difficult run of games from Oct 21 till December 6th. We will play Arsenal, Brentford, Tottenham, Man City, Newcastle, Brighton & Man United.

Apart from this, I love how the fixtures are scattered. We won't have very difficult opening matches as well as end-of-season games.

Still too early to know what this season will look like, but for now, let the countdown begin.

Noni Madueke has been one of our best players these last few matches but I feel there's much room for improvement.

His strengths include

1. He's fast
2. Strong & not easily pushed off the ball.
3. Great dribbling and 1 v 1 ability.
4. Tracks back to help the defence.

Weaknesses

1. Poor decision making
2. Little to no use of his right foot.

To get the best out of him for next season, the next coach must help him work on using his right foot better so he doesn't have to use his left, making him more predictable.

Coach him to release passes faster and know when to shoot.

Work on these two and we will have a very good player for next season.

Who else is in support?

Chelsea had a $60m deal agreed with Leeds for Raphinha.

Barcelona had agreed personal deal with Raphinha in March.

Now, he wants to join Barcelona but Barca's proposal is way less than the $60m Chelsea proposed.

Leeds United won't take anything less than $60m.

So, it's either Barcelona proposes same amount as Chelsea, OR

Raphinha decide to join Chelsea.

No, Man City didn't lose the UCL to Chelsea because they didn't play with a DM or a striker. Chelsea was just better and deserves the credit.​

Let's be clear. On April 17th (FA Cup), Pep started a striker (Jesus) & 2 DMs (Fernandinho & Rodri). Result? Chelsea 1-0 City.​

On May 8th, Pep started a DM (Rodri) & two strikers (Aguero & Jesus). The result? City 1-2 Chelsea.​

In the UCL final, Pep played no DM and a false 9 (De Bruyne) and still lost.​

Pep tried all he could to win but still lost. So, the argument of no DM/striker doesn't hold water. Tuchel got the better of City last season and should be appreciated without and Ifs and Buts.​

Today is a different game. If any team can win Chelsea, it is City. This match will be totally different from the last 3 games.​

It will be interesting to watch the tactical game plans of both managers.​

I see this as a 1-1 draw match. But I feel Chelsea could still win because of City's injury problems.​

Laporte & Stones just returned to training after being injured and I don't know if they are fit to start. Foden & De Bruyne are being eased in gradually after their injury woes.​

If City is without Bruyne, Foden & either of Laporte/Stones, I think Chelsea will win.​
