This denim jacket found me in a place where things are discarded and forgotten. When I found it I knew I wanted to make an interesting patchwork with it ✂️👌 It was a puzzle as it always is with patchworks and it took a lot of hours to assemble all the scraps of fabric I had, only to embroider the whole afterwards! 🧵🪡
I love working with cast-offs, it’s actually trickier than to make something from scratch and you need to be resourceful and creative in your craft, if you’ve worked with discarded pieces yourself you know what I mean 😉💙

I found this vintage cloth, the fabric was so thick and rich I needed to use it for this top! 👌
I dyed and distressed it lightly by hand to give it its vintage blue hue 💙 Then came the minimal embroidery to frame the collar ☺️💙
There are reflections and a subtle shine in the fabric through its thick weave that adds a richness and depth to it ✨♥️
There’s a subtle shine in it as well! I just loved working this fabric, I find it so rich! 👌💙
I only had enough fabric to creat two of these tops, I’m still using the scraps in my Sakiori ✂️🧵

I never throw anything away and I was glad to find a beautiful way to use these scraps in this Sakiori weaving ✂️🧵🪡
The whole process of cutting the straps, stitching them together and weaving them was all done by hand ☺️
The result after all these hours of work is unique, with all its range of blue shades complementing each other! 💙💙💙
I’ve distressed the denim on the top part to match the rugged look of the Sakiori.

I’m working on a really cool project right now and this is a small preview! ☺️♥️

💙Sashiko patchwork💙
So far this piece remains my greatest achievement 🧵🪡♥️
This Hanten jacket was made from scratch, I created a patchwork with fabrics of different shades of blue 💙
Then I embroidered the whole, one piece of cloth at a time, carefully choosing which Sashiko patterns to embroider to give a flow to the entire design ☺️💙
It took a lot of hours to make it happen, but I couldn’t be happier with the result ♥️

This denim vest is inspired by the Japanese worker’s uniform, I distressed the fabric to mend it and embroider it with Sashiko 🧵🪡
I wanted to create a rugged look to contrast with the ornamental Sashiko patterns 💙
The wrap belt is also one of my favorites, it’s a beautiful way to finish an outfit 👌

Sakiori, or a beautiful way to use scraps 💙
I never throw away the leftover fabric from my projects and I’ve been meaning to use them for some time now ! 🧵🪡 I decided to create new fabric from it using the Sakiori weaving method and I’m really happy with the result! ☺️
I get lost in all those beautiful shades of blue and I love the rich yet rugged look it has! 👌💙 I’m definitely going to play with that in my designs from now on 🙃
Nothing is ever wasted! I’m glad I kept all those scraps! 😁♥️
