Just a quick note for the day:

It’s very rare that I get a complaint about a quoted cake price…. But there are a few that practically *gasp* when I give a number… please know that most of the time I’m not charging nearly what I SHOULD be. I’ve been told this from other bakers, family/friends, and even customers!

I can’t say this enough… grocery store cakes are OBVIOUSLY much less expensive than a cake from a custom baker. You aren’t customizing anything from a grocery store cake. You aren’t getting made from scratch cake and frosting. You aren’t getting hand made decorations, and you aren’t getting personalized service.

What we wish customers would understand:
ALOT goes into pricing a custom cake. Cake flavor, whether its butter cream/ganache, fillings/no-fillings, fondant/no fondant, design time, boxing, materials used, and let’s not forget PAYING AN EMPLOYEE to make your custom creation!!

Something to remember for the future… Cheap cake isn't good..and GOOD cake isn't cheap!!
