“Leave No Trace” is probably the one Principle we think needs the most revision. This is one of the reasons why we have decided not just to share what information already exists on these Principles, but to explain our thoughts and experiences as people being affected by and affecting the world we live in now, and the mantras that guide us. It is impossible to leave NO trace, so why not make what we leave behind something kinder, wiser, and more sustainable for our neighbors and those who come after we are gone?
Radical Self-Expression! (This one was a bu**er of a design to turn into a transparent pdf but I like how it turned out—Amanda)
Guiding Principle number four is Communal Effort. Where do you look to find community? How does being in community with others affect us?
The third principle: Radical Self-Reliance
More from Lauren: This principle ties in nicely with a gifting economy, to both help others when and how you are able, and to allow others to help you when appropriate. Look inward to problem-solve - how can you take your unique, cumulative life experiences to inform a solution - are you creative? a good mediator? Funny or entertaining? What have you become good at? My favorite types of people are ones that can make something…something beautiful…. from nothing
The second principle: Gifting! Both Lauren and Amanda find it easier to give gifts than to receive them, but we know it is important to do both in a healthy community space. What is a gift that means a lot to you that you have given or received?
The first of our Ten Guiding Principles we will be talking about over the next few days is “Radical Inclusion”, both it’s definition in Burning Man and how that definition expands to include our practices at SYNWAV
Some insight on how the ten guiding principles that we will be sharing with you came to be! If you’re curious to learn more, DM us for resources, and check in with us each day to learn more about these ethics.

February is for vineyards. This is a time when the vines get cleaned up in preparation for new growth. Similarly, we are preparing for new growth and changes as we develop a new look to go along with our new name. Here are some that didn’t make the cut, along with some original concept sketches.
A of things to come.
Unfortunately, this year we had pretty bad drought conditions in our area, and thanks to travel restrictions from COVID19, we were not able to keep the vineyard properly irrigated this growing season. At Cerro Gordo, we are committed to producing only the highest quality wines, and are sad to announce that there will be no 2021 vintage. It's disheartening, but we will come back stronger and better for next growing season and have some really great ideas in the pipeline for 2022. Hit follow to stay with us for more updates!
Inspired by recently asking about favorite picnic spots. Here's one of our faves from here at Cerro Gordo.
I've uploaded some new and old pictures to my flickr account so you can appreciate the landscape at a greater resolution =)

Gonna take a minute to give a big shout out to my cousin, Jay, who owns
I'm so proud of him for going out and finding a way to make his dreams happen! He and his wife planted this place from the ground up, with a little help from family and friends, to grow the best natural medicine. Everything is organic and natural, cultivated by hand on their small family-farm.
He probably doesn't know it, but they were a big inspiration for
Anyhow, happy 420 y'all. Spread the love. Natural medicine is the best medicine.

The Story of Cerro Gordo - Part 1 - "The Birth of a Dream"
This is a photo of , seeing CerroGordoVina for the very first time. As many of us are , I thought it might be a nice time to share the story of our home, here at .
How did CerroGordoVina begin?
Scroll through this set of photos to read the whole story!
Back in February of 2019, took a job in Cartagena, Spain. "I'm really falling in love with here...I think you're gonna love it here too."
In May of 2019, () joined him with our little black kitten, Jinx, (who now has her own EU passport!) It was, in fact, love at first sight, and we quickly began to investigate the possibility of a permanent move.
In typical "us" fashion, as if buying your first home isn't overwhelming and hard enough on its own...we decided "Why not?! Let's do it all internationally + in a foreign language we barely spoke yet + contending with the very formidable Spanish bureaucracy and it's how-shall-we-say, "unique" land laws. Piece of cake." We went to look at a few houses around town in Cartagena. There were a few good contenders. We were looking for a fixer-upper; an opportunity.
We both enjoy big city life, and we equally enjoy country life. But neither of us was very excited about our home-base being in the middle ground of a small town (despite Cartagena being an incredible, interesting place with a great community!) So we broadened the search.
After spending many long nights searching through real-estate listings on the internet, we finally narrowed down the list to 3 that we wanted to go visit in person.
We booked a rental car and an AirBnb for an overnight stay. We'd make a weekend adventure out of it, and even if we didn't find what we were looking for, we'd still be getting to see some more the country that we hadn't yet explored.... (Story . Click the next photo to hear how it ends)
The Story of Cerro Gordo - Part 2 - "The Birth of a Dream"
We followed the realtor up the long and winding road to the viña atop Cerro Gordo. We had to pull off on the side of the road to park, as the driveway wasn't even in traversable condition. We finally crested the hill and stared out at the stunning mountainous expanse and the gleaming sea beyond. We could make out Africa faintly on the distant horizon.
We knew from the moment we arrived at Cerro Gordo...this was the one. There was no way we could even PRETEND to put on a poker face!
As our realtor sat down, smoking a cigarette on the very top of the hill, we began to look around.
We knew we'd have our work cut out for us, and the property was definitely not without its issues.
But we could see so much potential here; there was something very special about this place. We could FEEL it.
A dream was born. (Story )
