More children and humanitarian aid workers and journalists have been killed in this Genocide than has been recorded in conflicts in a long time.
And what do the US government say about the ceasefire? Quote: “It will not be helpful” ???
And what do the Israeli government say about the ceasefire? Quote “A danger to world peace” ??

When stopping to bomb unarmed people is called “unhelpful” and “a danger to world peace” how distorted have things got???

This is what Genocide looks like in clear technicolour. We are witnessing it now. We see 👀
We will not collide with this sickness of the human mind.
We will remain compassionate. Hearts open. Minds uncolonized.

We are witnessing the genocide of Palestinian people.

Today I feel comfortable in my own skin ❤️
Being in nature, swimming in the sea, feeling the sun on my skin, spending time with friends, spending time with me. These are things I cherish deeply and what keep me spiritually nourished and mentally healthy.

A year ago I was so unwell I could not get out of bed. I couldn’t stand long enough to brush my teeth (I had to sit in a chair), I couldn’t go out to see friends, I couldn’t play music or sing, and I definitely couldn’t write any new songs (or so I thought!). My poor body was fighting an energy related chronic illness (long covid probably).

So I’m just here celebrating getting better. Returning to doing the things I love. Finding myself again. But this time I feel a bit different. Like I’ve been through so much and still survived, with new strength and tools to continue my life.

I feel deeply grateful for my body and my return to health.
Slowly, but steadily. Upwards ❤️

This life. This healing. This survival. This thriving. These tears. This laughter. These feelings. These lessons. This story. This is my Soul Song.

The Soul Song that has been writing itself through all my experiences.

I’m now becoming ready to express it.

This is my Family Tree of Indigenous Grandmothers❤️
At the bottom center is me, with both of my Grandmothers on either side, their Mothers above them, and their Mother’s Mother’s above them.
As you can see I come from a long line of beautiful Women of Colour ❤️🧡💛💚💙

Both sides of my Indigenous Family Tree are from Mozambique, south east Africa, with my mother’s side on the left originating from Mauritius (and Goa, India even further back).

Aren’t they so beautiful 😍
I feel my beautiful Indigenous Grandmothers walking with me through my life and guiding me, and helping me to REMEMBER WHERE I’M FROM ❤️

All of my parents (I have four!) raised me to know my roots, and respect myself and my heritage and the people and land where I’m from ❤️

I was raised as a Child of Colour, by beautiful People of Colour, in the magical southern African country of Lesotho 🇱🇸🛖💚

This is me. These are my beautiful Grandmothers who stand beside me every day.

I honour them. And I honour the Ancestral Lands where I’ve had the blessing to be from and to be raised:
Mozambique & Lesotho.

Yes I am white-appearing. This is from my European Portuguese heritage, as all my grandmothers in this photo married white European Portuguese.

I am mixed race.
I am a Woman of Colour.
I was raised with my feet in African soil, and my head inside the stars.

Through the years of Apartheid the white colonisers here in South Africa tried to make me ashamed of my Indigenous African Heritage.

My Parents and Ancestors voices were louder and continue to this day. Protecting me from the hate, bringing me beautiful teachers and healers, of which .rosalesmeza is one such honoured soul teaching me about colonization and guiding me and my Ancestors through the process of Alchemizing 500 years Colonization ✊🏽

And now as I am back travelling in Southern Africa I am retracing many steps, unlearning much, and understanding my people better.

I humbly respect the custodians of these beautiful southern African lands, and I offer my Heart ❤️

I hope you are having a beautiful day wherever you are. Today I aspire to be like a Lioness under a tree after a successful hunt & feast 😸 A well earned rest. Giving my body all she needs to be well: Time, Space, Good food, Good company, Connection with Mamma Earth 🌍. Feeling at home.

This is one of the ways that I Connect to my Source and recharge my energy.

✨ RECHARGING MY BATTERIES ✨
Against all ‘sensible’ thoughts and safest decisions I let my body decide on what to do about me spiraling deeper into chronic illness and pain.
I’m an African. Raised under the southern African sun. The I left as a young adult and spent 23 years of my life on a cold gray rainy island with no sun. Slowly over the years my health got worse and worse until I was bedridden and in deep pain almost the entire 2021 ( long covid? Chronic fatigue? Fibromyalgia? Deep spiritual awakening?).
I worked with some powerful teachers and healers who helped me heal and decolonize my soul, mind and body (incl .rosalesmeza ). I am so grateful 🙏🏽♥️

I have come to understand how important my connection to the Earth is to my own healing.

That’s why I’ve taken myself away from that cold dark island that was eating away from my spirit a little every day.

And I find myself in the most wonderful magical place that is restoring my soul piece by piece, and healing my body day by day.

I took a big risk. I’ve been facing many big scary voices and reasons saying it will never work, I will fail, I will get sick again, it will not last, I’m a fraud, basically: im not enough and I don’t deserve better.

But the most important part of me that has really ALCHEMIZED the pain (as my teacher .rosalesmeza would say) is the part that believes she is worth the effort, risk and trust it has taken to get me to safety.

Sometimes you’ve just got to bet on yourself ♥️

I’ve decided to take the rest of August off posting on all social media 🤳🏽

I will be spending quality time with my loved ones and communing with the sea 🌊 for healing and inspiration 💙. Then I will be back refreshed and ready to share an exciting new chapter with you in September! ❤️
