Democratic State House Representative Rosemarie Rung has made accusations against me with no warrant and claimed that supporting me is "dangerous" in her call for voters to not elect me to the School Board. Well, I am dangerous, but not for the reasons that she thinks. I dangerously teach my students to use logic and reason to challenge their opinions while examining those of others. I dangerously engage students in using their higher ordered thinking and critical reasoning skills while examining controversial ideas. I dangerously present these controversial ideas fairly and without bias so that students can make their own decisions. I dangerously provide a safe space for students and parents to share their thoughts, ideas, beliefs, and concerns without judgment. I dangerously teach students to treat their leaders in school and government with respect even if they have different views. I dangerously exemplify to those in my circle of influence how to treat all people with love, compassion, and kindness. I dangerously listen and ask good questions when people share their thoughts, even if I disagree. I dangerously believe that Merrimack schools are good but could be great. I dangerously believe that students can reach their full potential when we come alongside them with whatever their post-graduation goals are. I dangerously believe that we can provide an incredible education to students while at the same time protecting our amazing senior citizens from being taxed out of their homes. I dangerously challenge the status quo to ensure that decisions are not being made for convenience or complacency, but for the best possible outcomes for the development of the students. I dangerously believe that change in the School Board can meet these goals. I am willing to meet with the Hon. Rung so that she can get to know me and what I think needs to happen in Merrimack.

I live an authentic life. I do not have some secret agenda that will be brought into the School Board. I do not believe in transforming the public school system as an extension of religious beliefs. The public school can be a place where a free exchange of ideas occurs, and all people are treated with dignity and respect – because every single person is intrinsically valuable.

With the announcement that the Superintendent has resigned effective 6/30, it is even more important to choose wisely who you will vote for to join the School Board. The district deserves a strong and inspiring superintendent who recognizes the roles of the School Board and the administration. The new School Board will be deciding the scope of the hiring and who is actually hired. We need creative and innovation to move forward! We need a strong School Board that can hire wisely to keep transparency and accountability for the public.

Please consider voting for all three of us on April 13, 2021 to bring real momentum to the Merrimack School Board.

Additionally, please vote for Andy Hunter for Town Council has he brings continued fiscal responsibility and vision to the town of Merrimack.

Hello awesome people of Merrimack! I am excited to announce that I will be running for the Merrimack School Board in the April 13, 2021 Town and School Election. As a member of the School Budget Committee, I have learned a great deal about the operations of the district and the role and responsibilities of the School Board. As a teacher and a department head who has been face to face since the beginning of the school year, I know first-hand the challenges of Covid, remote learning, student achievement and opportunities, as well as what needs to happen moving forward. I look forward to representing all stake holders at the School Board and ensuring our students thrive in the coming years.
