We are happy to see that former members of the Westland Ward are rejoining together in the Livonia ward. Those living in the Livonia School district are now in the Livonia ward. The Livonia ward and Northville ward are now members of the newly formed Farmington Hills stake.

Barry passed away early this morning. Thank you for surrounding us with your love, your support, and your prayers. Barry was aware of your comments and was strengthened by them. .As was I. We love each one of you. Thank you for sharing our unplanned burden this past year.

Some of you may have known Philip Shapardanis from the legacy Westland Ward.
We wanted to let you know of his passing and the funeral arrangements this coming weekend. Thank you for your prayers on behalf of his family.

Philip's Obituary
Philip S. Shapardanis, a resident of Westland, passed from this life on April 10, 2019, at the age of 91.

Philip was the beloved husband of Doris, and the loving father of Philip George (Bridget), Michael Svetko (Teresa), and Iris Karin (Jeffrey) Seria. He was the cherished grandfather of 10 and the proud great-grandfather of 10. Philip was the dear brother of Elena (Boris) Opashinov.

Visitation for Philip will be on Saturday, April 13, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of his Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. at The Livonia Ward Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 31460 Six Mile Road (at Merriman Road).

Daniel Christian Nuffer
1976 ~ 2019

Daniel Christian Nuffer (42), beloved son, husband and father, passed away on February 15, 2019, in Provo, Utah, as a result of complications related to surgery.

Dan was born in Provo, Utah, on April 19, 1976. He is the oldest son of Jared and Becky Nuffer. He has two brothers, Aaron and David, and two sisters, Missi Aurdahl and Amy Cannon. He grew up in Oklahoma and Oregon. He loved math and would help classmates out if they needed help to understand the assignments. He was 6 years old when the family got their first computer; he was fascinated by it. He was programming by the time he was 10. He loved music and played the saxophone and bassoon. He played in the Portland Youth Philharmonic and enjoyed touring Germany with them. He was a Boy Scout and earned his Eagle. He loved outdoor activities, including going on long biking trips, rafting trips, snow caving, spelunking, water and snow skiing, and camping. The summer before his senior year of high school, he went to a computer camp and met his future wife Heather there.

He attended Brigham Young University for a year before serving a mission in São Paulo, Brazil. Afterward, he returned to BYU to finish his bachelor’s degree in computer science. When Heather returned from her mission, he offered to give her a modem and set up her internet access. They started dating and became engaged shortly after. They were married on July 31, 1999, in the Vernal, Utah temple. Dan worked hard as a software developer while finishing school and graduated from BYU in 2000. They bought their first home in Pleasant Grove, Utah, in the summer of 2000. In 2008, they moved to Lindon, Utah.

Dan had a passion for computer software development and technology. Companies he worked for include LiteTouch, Coresoft, Caldera, Vintela, Quest, Intelliserv, Mozy, DOMO, Loveland Innovations, and Ancestry, where he invented, advanced and managed products in emerging fields. Dan was in the top tier among his peers. In 2003, he published an article in the C/C++ Users Journal. He got a master’s degree in computer science with a specialization in machine learning from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2017. His work experiences allowed him to travel to places such as India and China.

He and Heather have 3 children: Paul (17), Rose (13) and Thomas (11). Together, they made wonderful memories. They loved to have outdoor adventures, including camping, biking, skiing, geocaching, and hiking. They liked playing games, trying new foods and restaurants, and playing with their gerbils and snake. Southern Utah was one of his favorite places. He also enjoyed adventurous trips with his friends, such as exploring slot canyons and mountain climbing.

Dan is survived by his spouse Heather; his children Paul, Rose and Thomas; his parents Jared and Rebecca; his grandparents Stanley and Helen Nuffer, and Larry and Utahna Kerr; and his siblings Aaron (Brittney) Nuffer, Melissa (Brian) Aurdahl, David (Elizabeth) Nuffer, and Amy (Jeffrey) Cannon; 26 nieces and nephews, and many other loved family and friends.

We will always remember Dan’s kindness, intelligence, incredible work ethic, and humor. He was loved by many and will be missed immensely.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 12:00 pm at the Lindon Stake Center, 1050 East 100 North, Lindon, Utah. Family and friends may call on Friday, February 22, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Warenski Funeral Home, 1776 North 900 East, American Fork, Utah, and again on Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 am at the church prior to services. Interment will be at the Lindon City Cemetery. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.warenski.com

More sad news. Sue Voydanoff passed away on the 19th.

Sad news learned about today. Lou Davey passed away September 12,2017. She and DIck had moved to Springville Utah to be near her brother.

We had a nice visit with the Hubers in Orem. They are expecting baby #4 soon.

For those of you who lived in the Westland Ward we want to notify you of the passing of Bill Matteson. Bill was living with his wife Beth in the Toledo area. I do not have any details of the service/viewing but will post it as we hear.

Good news. Kevin and Marcie Huber had a baby girl. Katherine Isabella Huber was born yesterday weighing in at 9lbs 6oz and 22 1/2 inches tall. All is well in Blackfoot.

We have received word that Mo Bagson husband of Rose Bagson passed away a couple of weeks ago.

We are sad to let you know that Gayle Gipson passed away last week. Her funeral is Wednesday at 10am at the Uht Funeral Home on Glenwood in Westland. We will miss her.
