Now the dust has settled its time to look at the Euro feeder cup.
Firstly, a massive thanks to Lee Kerry for getting this event off the ground, the first full international course event held in England for 20 years.
The Angling Trust for the behind the scenes help.
Also to Barston Lakes for their excellent hospitality.
The british Army team who kept security and did the weighing in.
Sensas Fishing for supplying groundbait.
Finally, to Drennan International for their fantastic support.

For this competition, we fielded two teams.
Drennan Aqua, which was made up of the world championship team, and Drennan Blue, a team of young and future internationals.
All the guys worked together tremendously and came up with plans after the two practice days.
Being on home soil, we were hot favourites, but that brings an amazing amount of added pressure.

We had been down practising multiple times to perfect our team plans.
We based our plan on two parts, quality fish lines for carp and bream at 60m & 30m depending on the draw and also a shorter skimmer line at 15-20m.
The longer lines would be fed with a particle mix of corn, h**p, dead maggots, and some Sensas fine carp to stick it together and help make a cloud.
Bunches of maggots or worms were the best hook bait.
The skimmer line was fed with Sensas power pellet dark groundbait, with worms and maggots added.

The first two days went to plan with both teams finishing first and second, with great scores.
Day three was slightly different, with all the rain the lake had coloured up and the fishing changed slightly.
Hungary and the Czechs were on the march, catching lots of quality fish and both teams getting posting great scores.

The results came in with Drennan England Aqua taking the title, the Czechs second and world champions Hungary in third.
The Blue team struggled a little bit on day three, i put that down to experience at international level, its no disgrace to come forth behind three of the world best feeder teams.
The individual results confirmed the top three places for the Drennan Aqua team of Rob Wootton, Lee Kerry, and Steve Ringer.
We have always said individual results are the byproduct of a great team plan.

Im incredibly proud of both teams for their effort and professionalism, who all represented their country on home soil.
The event will be held in Belgium next year, we cant wait.

The dust has settled after the world championships in Serbia.
Firstly, I'd like to thank Drennan International for their brilliant sponsorship, who's provided all the squd with everything that we have asked for, and also coming out to document the week.👏👏👏👏👏
Sensas UK for quality groudbait and additives.👏👏👏

The DTD canal was a tough nut to crack. Fishing for species that are alien to us is always a difficult task, even more so in the ridiculous heat.

Our 5 days of training went OK, never spectacular, but learning a little every day.
One concern is that we never caught any fish 500g and above.
We settled on a 2 line approach, 9-13m where we could find a decent bottom to fish on as it was very rocky, then a 35m line for spikey catfish.

We would start on the short line for some early silvers and then move on to the catfish line if it dried up.
On arrival at the venue on Saturday, it was coloured and towing, conditions we hadn't really seen in practice.
This worked in our favour as most of the lads had a great start catching plenty of silver's. It seemed that we had this line pretty much to ourselves early in the match.
If that line died, we would go on the catfish line.
It worked a treat with us winning the day with 14 points.

Day 2 came, the flow had stopped, and the colour was also dropping out.
I didn't make any changes to the team plan, but with the help of the runners, we could change accordingly.
At the start, every team started on the shorter line, which made the fishing harder, and the catfish had slowed down after 6 solid days of food!
We stuck to our plan and unfortunately fell a little short, with Hungary and Holland catching some quality fish to take Gold and Silver, respectively.

Sometimes, it is harder to protect a lead than to chase one, chasing you have the option to go 'all out' which I don't think you have trying to protect your lead.
We could have done this and done that, but Hindsight is a wonderful thing. We take it on the chin and improve for next time.
We're all absolutely gutted, but a world medal is never to be sniffed at, and that is 2 medals in 2 years, something we haven't achieved in a long time.
The group is stronger than ever, all working hard as one unit.
Massive thanks to-
Jamie Harrision
Rich Wilson
Eddie Bridon
Graham West
Tom Meertens
These guys are the unsung hero's of the team, 14 hour days in ridiculous heat getting everything prepared for the guys to fish.

The support we have had from you guys at home has been absolutely amazing, we can't thank you enough, when your 1500 miles away from your family, it certainly helps.
All the lads have done their own blogs so keep a look out for them.
Thanks
DB

Drennan England feeder team finish 3rd in the world feeder champs.

Gutted we couldn't hold on to 1st place after day 1.
The venue changed a little from the day before.
Two podium places in the last 2 years isn't to be sniffed at in this company.

Massive thanks to everyone who's supported us during this last week.
Massive well done to Team Hungary on a brilliant 2nd day performance to win Gold and also to Holland who have come 2nd.
