Prayers for Niangua Schools
A place to provide prayers for the school & community
Lord,
As students and staff make their way to campus for the first day of school, we pray that You will keep them safe and help their first day be successful.
We ask for Your guidance and blessings as we start a new academic year. Open our eyes to the new challenges and exciting opportunities this new year will bring us. Help us to be mindful of one another and intentional in our relationships.
We pray for the students who are nervous about what this new year will hold. Give them courage to talk to a friend, enthusiasm for their studies, and love for one another. Protect our students from bullying or harm. We pray that our student body will be safe and healthy throughout the year.
Lord, we pray for the teachers that are in charge of shaping the minds of our future. Give them an abundance of wisdom, patience, endurance, and compassion throughout the year. When our teachers become weary, we pray that You will remind them of the important job that they hold.
Lord, we pray for our administrators as well. We thank you that they have answered the call to lead our teachers, school, and children. Bless our administrators with wisdom, integrity, a sense of humor for when things go wrong, patience, and the energy to complete their tasks. We pray that they know how much they are needed and what a difference they make in our schools.
Most of all, help us remember that we are the salt and light to those around us. Convict of us of our wrongdoings and help us to use our actions as a witness to those around us during this year.
In Jesus' name we pray,
Amen
Lord,
We lift up the family of Grandma Becky who has left her earthly dwelling and gone to be with You. We pray that You bring her family and friends comfort in knowing that she is in heaven, free of pain and suffering. Give them peace and rest throughout the coming months as they grieve her loss, and let them always be reminded of the great impact Grandma Becky had on those around her.
We pray for our school family who has grown so very fond of Grandma Becky. Her sweet smile, tender hands, sewn gifts, and sweet treats have graced many of us who have been in Niangua Schools, and for many more reasons she will be sorely missed.
We thank you for the life of Grandma Becky. She always gave a true example of selflessness as she aided the teachers in extra work, read to students through the years, and loved on each and every student. Her work within the community and the school continued to demonstrate just how selfless she truly was. Most of all, we thank you for the Christ-like example she was day in and day out. May her example strike a fire in all of us to live intentionally for You. Grandma Becky's life was purposeful and we thank you for her. We thank you for her relationship with You, and we look forward to seeing her again.
In Jesus' name we pray,
Amen
Lord,
We come to you today broken hearted and grieving as we have learned about a tragedy in our community. We pray for the family and friends of Mikael Werner, who are now dealing with shock and grief so close to Christmas. We pray that you will guide them through this season and give them peace and comfort in the coming months. We pray for Mikael's two young children. As his children grow older, may they know You and feel Your Fatherly love throughout their lives. We pray for Mikael's girlfriend, Jhenna. Give her strength and let us be a community that is showing her love. We know that grief does not disappear, but we pray for a healing that will allow her to be stronger for You.
Lord, we thank you for the life of Mikael. We thank you for the orneriness and down-to-earth man that he was. We pray that his children will hear stories and know that they were loved.
It is often hard to find words in moments like these, but we know that You hear the grievings of our hearts and we find comfort in that.
In Jesus' name we pray,
Amen
Lord,
We come to you today asking that you place a shield of protection around Niangua School today due to the recent TikTok challenge that has been announced for today.
Give the teachers, administrators, and staff discernment about any situations today. Let us be attentive in listening and noticing students who may need extra support. Lord, we have a tight-knit family at Niangua and we pray that You will help us to be mindful of that and cherish that aspect of our community.
We also pray for other districts and the youth in our nation. When a challenge like this happens it is so heartbreaking. We pray that You will protect our youth and guide us in how to prevent these challenges in the future.
In Jesus' name we pray,
Amen

Lord,
We pray for Niangua's new superintendent, Mr. Hume. We ask that you guide him and the school board as he takes on this new position. Give them wisdom as they are enabled to make choices and be a voice of encouragement to our principals, teachers, students, and parents in the community. We thank you for their commitment and hard work as they strive to provide a quality education that prepares all students for a successful education.
We pray that these leaders will listen to your words and know that according to Proverbs 1:2-4, "Their purpose is to teach people wisdom and discipline, to help them understand the insights of the wise. Their purpose is to teach people to live disciplines and successful lives, to help them do what is right, just and fair. Their purpose is to give insight to the simple, knowledge and discernment to the young."
Lord, remind our school leaders that they have such an important role and impact in our schools and the community. Help us to be the support that they need, so that they are able to feel that they are loved and important.
In Your name we pray,
Amen
Lord,
We come to you with broken hearts and not knowing what to say. We pray that you help us in our weakness and intercede for the many prayers that fall short of the right words.
Today, we want to pray for the Moore family. We pray for those who have been affected by this recent tragedy. Help us to have the right words and actions to support the family and those grieving. Lord, we know that Satan continues to work through the dark times, so we pray that when dark moments happen now and in the future You bring peace and comfort to those missing their son and mother.
Lord, we thank you for those who have survived, and we specifically lift up Alisa to You. We pray that You heal their memories of trauma and devastation and give them courage to face the days ahead. We pray that You heal their pain, both physically and emotionally.
Help us to be Your hands and feet. Help us respond with generosity, prayer, assistance, and giving comfort to the best of our abilities.
In tragedies like these, it is difficult to see how You will work through even this to become the good of Your will. We are trusting You, and remembering that You have a plan for the Moore family and their children. Lord, we pray for their futures and we pray that they will remember to turn to You for strength.
In Jesus' name we pray,
Amen.
"Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words."
-Romans 8:26
Lord,
We lift up those in our community and school that are being affected by COVID. While some have had a simple cold, we know that there are others who have been impacted much more. Help us to be mindful that the symptoms vary so widely. Help us to have compassion for the person who may have infected someone when they didn't know they had COVID because their symptoms were very little. Lord, heal those who have been sick and comfort those who have lost a loved one due to COVID.
Lord, as we near flu season we pray for the health of our community and school. Help us to mindful of those around us and to remember the importance of healthy practices. Despite our view on masks or COVID, help us to remember that, first and foremost, we need to have compassion on those around us.
In Jesus' Name,
Amen
Lord,
As teachers, students, and staff begin to go back to school tomorrow after virtual learning, we pray that You put a hedge of protection around Niangua Schools. We pray that the students come back ready to learn., and the students will be quick to fall back into routine as they are going through so many things this year that are less than normal. We pray for the administrators as they have been forced to make quick and tough decisions throughout the entire year of 2020. Lord, give them the wisdom to know when certain actions need to come into place, and help us to be understanding and compassionate when they announce their decisions.
Lord, whether we agree with wearing masks or not, we pray that You will remind us that we are to be a light to those around us. We may have a mask disguising our smiles, but we can still impact those around us with our encouraging words and actions. Help us to be quick to understand and forgive. Help us to be strong pillars demonstrating Your strength when others are weak. Most of all, help us to be like You, and convict of us places where we can be molded to change into Your likeness.
In Jesus' Name,
Amen.
Welcome!! There is no doubt that the last year has been stressful with COVID and the stressors that come with that. However, there have also been some significant losses and pain in our community recently as well.
This group was created to be a place to support each other in prayer and provide prayers for the school & community. Please feel free to message the page if you have a specific prayer request you would like written on the page. Prayer requests will be written as a prayer so that you are already prayed over. 🙂 Others in the group can read the prayer and join in prayer as well!
